Analyst predicts poor Wii U Third Party support |

To say Nintendo had a rough year is an understatement for the Big N. When you go more than a decade without posting a financial loss and then announce a new console and release a console in the same year and people don't start pushing their wallets in your hand you know something is up.
Michael Pachter, renowned games analyst has put forward that with a lack of third party support the Wii U could buckle under it's own weight and spell the end of Nintendo. Pachter has said "Nintendo has to simply stop living in the past in 2012." Pachter praised Nintendo's choices in the past but has said bluntly that they have been doing so well due to the "third party support based upon the large installed base they generated for their hardware" and Pachter simply thinks Wii U does not have that (yet).
Pachter supports his predictions in saying that Nintendo "trying to be different with their...controller...[has lead them] to complicated game design for developers..." as they don't know if they are supporting "one or multiple controllers." Nintendo have prided themselves on simple controllers and great game design but have not lead much to help developers in showing how their games can and will be played.
I think Pachter is right and many would attest to the idea that a key contributor to having great game consoles is the amount and type of games they have on release. The wide range of games released initially for the Wii weren't great (See: Red Steel) but they did give us a great amount of options to play from the get go and showed us what the future of Motion Controls could do. Meanwhile Wii U has showed nothing of great gameplay short of, don't bug people who want to watch TV, so play it on this tablet. It's not a great controller, just a great feature and Wii U may be a wait-and-see console for me. But Pachter is right on the lack of good third-party so far. E3 may prove both of us wrong.

Why, thank you. Indeed but the 1st party is not the stronger to make console/portable successfully. A third party is a key and can help 1st party to be successful as well. Without 3rd party then it is worthless.

Well, I dont know about it. Anyway, dont understand where I came from ? You are being silly.
I didnt say anything about Nintendo. I think that 3rd is most important part of consoles. A first party like Nintendo doesnt mean anything to me. A third party should be part of it and that is why PS3 and 360 are so successfully thanks to 3rd party. Thats what I am saying.

And nintendo always sales.. I hope so, that nintendo will allow more 3rd party support this time and we may also see better pc games because of it.

It may or may not since some devs like using older technology.

Wii U is compared to 360 and ps3. So let me ask, Wii U graphical abilities is only slightly above ps3. This is no different then Wii's situation, where it was slightly more powerful then xbox and instead of some games in 480p, all games will be. Honestly sony and microsoft are steps ahead of em, and 3rd party support now, 3ds looks like it has right now, but look how every 3rd party game is on it so far (but monster hunter case). PS Vita has alot more promise for 3rd party. Nintendo 3ds selling games are really exclusives and any game released for it and vita, will be a better game on vita. once they see that. 3ds will have abunch of shovelware like ds. & vita will have all the stuff like re, call of duty, assassins creed already shows more interest in vita etc. but it will be the same console wise, because the xbox and ps will be steps ahead of wii u in the time they come and devs don't like to do a dumb down version and a high rate version of the same games

Did pachter actually say that? If so then he is a bigger tool then I have thought before.
3rd party support isn't needed for the success of any product. If he thinks otherwise then how the hell does he have a job?
"spell the end of Nintendo"
He also said the gamecube was killing Nintendo.
He also said the Wii was going to kill Nintendo.
STFU pachter.

I will support wiiU and considering that its a very bad timing for sony to anounce a ps4, also for microsoft due to halo 4... The wii U success as it is 4-5 times stronger than ps3, it sounds like we pc gamers we also may see better games (imports) in the near feature.
Not to reffer that Sony and Microsoft are rooqies with consoles and they always need 2-3 years to balance their consoles, so Wii U got up to 4-5 years clean field to prove the oposite than pachter hopes..
