If you're a real gaming hardware nut, you're going to love this kind of crazy mod that places the Xbox 360 thumbsticks inside a Wii U Pro Gamepad. Believe it or not, the actual process won't take you any more than an hour if you work slowly, but that doesn't mean the procedure as a whole won't challenge you. If you've got a trusty screwdriver set, an Exacto knife, and a soldering iron, then you just might be in good shape to try this one out.

In the past, industry analysts and gamers alike have remarked on just how similar the Xbox 360 remote and the Pro Gamepad really are. After all, they offer both the same basic shape, and even the same button arrangement, so it would be hard for someone not to draw the comparison. Luckily thanks to a video from the folks over at Gametista you can proceed to make that dividing line even more blurry with this little controller mod that places the 360 thumbsticks in Nintendo's controller.
So now you might be asking "how in the world can I get this done." The process itself is explained in pretty good detail through the link above, but more or less you open up the Gamepad and then shave a small bit of the 360 thumbsticks off with the Exacto and then solder just a little bit on the inside of each one so that the 360s fit in Nintendo's slightly deeper controller bezel. If you have experience with this kind of stuff, it actually doesn't appear to be to difficult. Then again, how necessary is something like this unless you're just looking for something to do?
