Wii homebrew - Wiibrew - custom firmware - news and downloadsStalwart Wii homebrew developer waninkoko has done it again, and this time in a major, major way, with the release of a custom IOS installer for the Wii. Demonstrating the power of this installer, waninkoko has also released a Wii DVD Dumper and GenPlus-GX, a Genesis emulator for the Wii that makes use of the custom firmware. Because USB support is what author Waninkoko added to WAD Manager v1.1, and yes, the support extends far enough to allow Wii users to load game data files off the USB drive. WAD Manager v1.0 makes landfall for Wiis - Image 1We know there's a minority of you folk who still has to contend with seriously laggy Internet connections (it doesn't help that you have to connect from half-way around the world, you importer, you) when re-downloading your purchased WiiWare and Virtual Console games. And even though you could shuffle your way through multiple SD cards, there's just got to be a better way. Homebrew coder Waninkoko came up with something really close: WAD Manager v1.0 for the Nintendo Wii.
