You know what comes next after the European PS Store Update, yes? That's right, it's the US PS Store Update for the week of July 2, 2009. And it's a hefty one to serve you fine too, in time for the 4th of July weekend. So in case you're feeling a little lethargic to join in on the festivities, at least you'll have something else to do to keep you busy. Among those stashed in this week's goodie bag are add-on packs for MotorStorm Pacific Rift, Cross Edge, the Capcom Classics Collection Remixed for the PSP Store and more. Full list after the jump.

Mark this day, folks, because this is the day Metal Gear Solid officially sets its virtual foot onto the PSOne Classics service. At US$ 10, it's a steal if you just wanna play it. I've seen brand new boxed copies of this game being sold for almost US$ 200. No kidding. Also included in this update are a bunch of new Rock Band and Guitar Hero World Tour tracks. I have a softer spot for the former's picks, though, since it includes Spinal Tap songs. Gotta watch that movie again. It never gets old. They may both be stealth-heavy games, but one of the big differences between Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction and Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4 lies in the cutscenes, with the former having none at all. According to one of the game's devs, this was a conscious decision made to improve the gamer's immersion in the story.

I guess we're still playing the "Where in the world is Sam Fisher" game. An update has been made to the so-far cryptic website for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction (PC, Xbox 360) title that is set to be delivered by Ubisoft. And yes, it actually does make things a bit clearer, albeit still shrouded in mystery.

If these new ESRB listings prove to be correct, we may be seeing Solid Snake again on the PS3. It won't be Old Snake, though, but Metal Gear Solid-era Snake, and he'll even be bringing along pre-steroids Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine from before she had a dye job.

Of note this week in Europe's PSN update are a handful of downloadable PSP games: LocoRoco and SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 2 being half of that list. The usual PS3 games get DLC packs again, but if you guys want to give Savage Moon a spin, there's a trial version available.

Ubisoft has announced another batch of DLC for Tom Clancy's HAWX. Players will be getting five new planes as downloadable content tomorrow.

Big day today for aspiring LittleBigPlanet creators. There's a new free pack containing some creation tutorials on the US PlayStation Store. Should be useful for those who want to learn more about creating their own stages in LittleBigPlanet. The PSP version of the PlayStation Store still continues to be sparse, but at least there's a new downloadable game there in the form of Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters. Europe's PSN update for this week has gone llive. The usual suspects are there (DLC packs for LBP, GH, and RB), but if you guys want something bigger, there are three new PSN titles (and two new PS3 game demos!), as well as more downloadable games for the PSP.
