Those who've already been to the PlayStation Store might've run into the new EA Sports category over there. Just like Capcom dating back to November in 2008 with the release of Age of Booty, EA Sports would be the second to have its own special storefront.

UFC president Dana White once recognized EA Sports to be a great publisher, having produced successful sports game franchises such as FIFA, NASCAR, Tiger Woods PGA, and Madden NFL. White wanted the Ultimate Fighting Championships to have its own video game and join those ranks, so he went to the EA Sports hoping for a deal. Unfortunately, EA did not believe in MMA, so they turned White down, saying that the UFC is "not a real sport."

Electronic Arts' App Store face may be limited somewhat to AAA titles, like Tiger Woods PGA Tour and The Sims 3, but that doesn't mean they're not going for the three bucks and below market, which we've just learned, is the dominant market on the App Store as far as games go. For that, they've created a new studio - 8lb Gorilla - which now unveils its first ninety-nine cent game: Zombies & Me.

The Playstation Store update for Europe is now available. This week, you have three excellent PSN games that includes the PS3 exclusive Punisher: No Mercy, an old school classic James Pond: Robocod, the massive PSP hit game Monster Hunter Freedom Unite plus four other PSP games, new add-on contents for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10, LittleBigPlanet  and more.

It's Day 2 of E3, and the PlayStation Store just got updated again with the latest vids, clips, and demos from the Electronic Entertainment Expo. This update features the second and third parts of the E3 presscon, plus a whole bunch of trailers and debut vids all waiting to be downloaded, as well as a few other items that you might wanna take a look at. Oohhh-kay. That went relatively well, wouldn't you say? Nintendo's E3 2009 presentation wasn't just all about smiles this time around. They did try to be harder-hitting, and we gotta give them props for that. Overall, it was... alright. About one or two items only that got us kinda raising our voices a decibel higher in excitement.

Back in E3 at the LA Convention Center, Electronic Arts announced their brave new stab into the mixed martial arts gaming scene, EA Sports MMA for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The game is going to be developed by the guys who handled Madden and Tiger Woods, EA Tiburon, with the promise that the game will feature a wider variety of moves and fighting styles than the ones we've already seen. This week's Playstation Store update for Europe is sure to pump you up as not just one but four game demos are available. Leading the pack are the much-awaited demos for inFamous and Marvel vs. Capcom 2. You also get new packs for MotorStorm Pacific Rift, Chronicles of Riddick and H.A.W.X. Also included in the update are a PS1 classic and a full game for the PSP.

Great news for those eagerly waiting for Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus accessory. EA Sports has recently announced that they're moving up the releases of two of their upcoming Wii sports games to coincide with the MotionPlus launch.
