DJ Portable DS - Image 1 DJ Portable Ds - Image 1

News have just reached our ears that t4ils has released his DJ Max Portable-inspired homebrew game for the DS, DJ Portable DS. The basic objective? To hit the assigned buttons in time when the notes hit the red line. Kinda DDR Universe also, actually.

So anyway, this is just the beta release so if you find any bugs, rest assured that it will be fixed in future releases. Known bugs include the following (and we quote): Attention not to go all in top of the track (the top of the screen is not the top of the track, the top of the track is much further) when you are in pre-listening, if not that shifts the notes. And to place several notes on the same line will make only play 1st in pre-listening.

Oh, and this game also uses bookshop FAT in order to "safeguard the songs on the memory board." If you have any suggestions on how t4ils can improve this game, just click on the link below and feel free to say your piece. That said, go on and...

Avoid 'Em All v1.02Just as if we hit our refresh button on our browsers, t4ils is quick on the take and has updated his Avoid 'Em All homebrew game. For those who missed yesterday's primary release, this game plays pretty much like No Place to Hide and CarreRouge.

You control a red box with your stylus and avoid all those balls hammering you down from above. From time to time, special orbs called No-Claims Bonuses fall down. The green one slows down the other objects, while the red ones give you invincibility.

For Avoid 'Em All v1.02, t4ils was able to include the ability to "store" the No-Claims that you collect. These are put in reserve as seen on top of the screen and can be activated by hitting either Left/Right on the D-Pad (or Y/A for the lefties). He's also added sound to the slow-mo mode.

At the rate that this dev is going, there could be just another release around this time tomorrow, so check back from time to time. For now, download the latest version below!

Avoid 'Em AllIn the tradition of No Place to Hide and CarreRouge, here's yet another game involving you having to dodge other stuff around the screen. This homebrew project from t4ils is aptly titled Avoid 'Em All. You control a red square on the touch screen with your stylus, and as balls rain down on you from above, all you got to do is - yep, you guessed it! - avoid them all.

The interesting part of the game comes in the form of "No-claim" bonuses that you can collect from time to time:
  • Green particles: Slows down the other balls
  • Red particles: Gain invincibility
Now, with regards to invincibility, you do have a life meter in this game. And on top of that, the developer made sure that people wouldn't camp out at the edges of the screen as the balls rain down on the center. So, he's made it in a way that moving your box to the left and right edges of the screen will cost you some life. No camping!
