Python is the common name for a group of non-venomous snakes which kill their prey by constriction. These fantastic snakes are found in Australia, Southeast Asia, India, and Africa. The one with the healthy appetite shown in the photo above was sighted near a road in a small Malaysian village. |

Konami, with Kojima Productions, is proud to release the 5th Official Trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot. The trailer is nothing short of riveting, as it captures all the elements of absolute heart-pounding, gun-blasting action. The dramatic panning of the cameras following the movements of the characters, only add to the breath-taking suspense and thrill (it did leave me wanting for more!). The graphics were simply fantastic, it was almost hard to believe it was not a real movie. Revolving on the story of how private military companies (PMC) have grown to be powerful enough to rival that of the US military, Guns of the Patriot takes you right into the heart of hardcore battle as an armed insurrection is waged against the 5 largest PMCs run by a dummy company, which in turn acts for a single mother company, Outer Heaven. See Snake survive the assaults, along with Otacon, his sidekick comfortably out of harm's way through his handy robot. If the actual game is to be as good as the trailer, 2007 will be a really long wait for this game. Download: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Official Trailer 5 |

First we got the dogs. Now, we have the hamsters. These lovely little critters from Digital Kids will be invading our DS with their game Love Love Hamster! It works a little like NintenDogs. There are 6 types of hamsters to choose from, one of which is even a panda-looking hamster. You can pet your hamster with the touch pen and talk to it with the microphone. If you talk to it often, your hamster may even respond to you. Yep, you heard that right: they do talk back to you! If you let it remember some words like "Good Morning" or even "Crap", your dear little critter may have the chance to answer back to you. It will take some effort and some time to train them to say words, but in due time, you might just be able to talk to your cute hamster. Like the other pet games, you've got to play the responsible owner. You can also design his play pen and even dress him up. These guys really do take pet care to the next level. Surely, hamsters are the usual pets however, knowing the Japanese for their knack for the mundane, one could only wonder, would the next NintenPet be... a snake!? More Love Love Hamster cuteness after the Jump! |

The gameplay for Nibbles is essentially the same. As you make your way around the game area, you gain points by nibbling on the fruits scattered in your path, while trying to avoid hitting the walls or bumping into yourself (Boy did that sound weird). The challenge is, as you go on eating the fruits, you elongate your character making it harder to maneuver. You'll be using your stylus to guide your character to the direction you want it to go. The game ends once you collide with a wall or yourself. Changelog:
We give it points for being an uncomplicated enjoyable homebrew. If you just want to pass the time and not exert too much effort, then this is definitely a game you should put in your DS. Download: [Nibbles v1.1] |

Here's another entry for QJ and Liksang's Summer Coding Competition. PSPSnake is based on the old-school Snake game. You've probably played or come across it at least once in your life. To make things more interesting, developer Gambiting has added a few extra features to PSPSnake. There are three modes of play: Classic, Arcade, and Extreme. The gameplay in Classic mode is the same as the original Snake game. In Arcade, you can reduce the snake's length, plus you can use "snake motion" to slow its movements and escape difficult situations. Extreme mode plays almost the same as Classic mode, but this time you can't reduce the length of the snake PLUS the snake's length increases constantly. Click on the download link below to try this game out. Once all the entries for the Summer Coding Competition are released, we will also release a compilation of all the game entries along with instructions regarding the voting procedure. A new Metal Gear Solid game for any console is always guaranteed to get the heart going. The excellent gameplay coupled with console-leading graphics and a storyline that'll keep you immersed into the game are all things that are common-place with MGS games, from the golden oldies to Metal Gear Acid 2, the PSPs latest MGS title to have been released. As you probably already know, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops is set six years after ps2">PS2 title Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater as Naked Snake (aka Big Boss) establishes FOXHOUND in an attempt to hunt down the treacherous FOX unit, which has started a bloody revolt in South America. The game is set in 1970 and will be the missing link in the ongoing Metal Gear saga. For now we don't have any more details on the highly-anticipated PSP title but what we do know is that more screenshots have been released for the game. Take a look! |

Kojima Productions is shaking things up for all fans of Snake and Metal Gear Solid, with some significant release date changes. Previously announced as having a TBA 2007 release date, game sites such as EBgames and IGN, have changed the information found in their sites for this game's release date. IGN has it listed as December 5, 2006, while EBgames has it four days earlier at December 1, 2006. Because of this little discrepancy, we advise you to take it with a grain of salt for now. But it doesn't hurt to hope and wish that the wait to try the "White Flag" mode is just around the corner. Anything that comes up, you'll be the first to know. |

Super Snake DS by Christopher Beley has truly come a long way. Previously featured here on QJ last month, it was still just a baby homebrew in its pre-release version. Now, it has bloomed into a noteworthy game. Previously having only seven main levels (35 sub-levels) it now boasts of 11 different levels when you're in Adventure Mode, resulting to 60 sub-levels. It only means more hours of gameplay for us. Nice! And you'd be happy to know that everything on his previous to-do list was realized on this latest one like high score saving, auto-saving after all levels and sub-levels (thank goodness) and as we previously mentioned, more levels. According to the game's official site, there are no more known bugs or issues with this release. Although, we still would like to see a multiplayer option added into this crazy mix. Overall, the homebrew tagged as "not just another Snake game", is packed with enough features that are making us think it is indeed everything but ordinary.

delfare from Player Advance, has released an alpha version of his game called Warrior Training. The game's objective is to complete a series of task to pass the tough and cold world of Warrior School. There are two games as of the moment where you can test your abilities as a future warrior - snake and one shooting game. But, delfare says what he needs most is help in graphics. The game is still yet far from perfect, given the lack in graphics flare and some bugs. But future plans for the game are looking up. He plans to add WiFi support for additional players to join in the Warrior Training boot camp.
