Game with Fame - Image 1Creating their own cut for the Halo Wars soundtrack apparently isn't enough for the Scissors Sisters. It was announced today that the group will be joining in on the Game with Fame event on Bungie's Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta over Xbox Live.

On May 30, at 11:00 BST, Scissor Sisters will be playing members of the Xbox Live community from their hotel room in France, just before they get on stage later for their tour event.

Now that's not the only thing rolling for the multiplayer beta event. You probably already know that a competition was launched for budding gamer/musicians to take part in the Xbox Soundtracks. If you are interested, then you might want to make a sprint for it as the competition ends on May 31. A group of judges will be picking from among the entries and the top picks will be the ones put up on the Xbox.com/music site for the public to decide which will take the cake. If your entry gets chosen, you will get the chance to head on over to a Universal Music studio to lay down your track. Cool, eh?

Anyhow, back to the Game with Fame event, if you want to take part in that session, just email your name, age, nationality and gamertag to scissorsistersparis@gamewithfame.net. But if you just want to watch the Halo 3 multiplayer beta, then stay tuned to your Xbox Live until June 10. Surely, it's gonna be one heck of an event.

Microsoft Xbox 360 - Image 1Gaming lads from Britain who are also aspiring musicians now have a chance to take the spotlight: Microsoft is currently looking for artists to compose music for their Xbox 360 trailers. To join, you have to visit Xbox's site and download trailers you'll put music to. The lucky winner will be doing some recording in a state-of-the-art studio with support from professionals, before walking home with a demo tape in hand.

The guys who started the trend come from the band Enter Shikari, inspired by the Japanese culture during one of their tours to make a track for a Blue Dragon trailer. Promotion will be handled by different artists, including the band Scissor Sisters who remixed one of their songs exclusively for the Halo Wars trailer.

Microsoft Head of Gaming and Entertainment Stephen McGill has positive insights regarding the program, saying that artists being inspired to make music is a major turning point for the video game industry.  He also expressed Microsoft's delight in having a band like Enter Shikari, hoping that it will inspire other people to get creative too.

Xbox Big Day Out 2007 in France - Image 1Xbox Big Day Out 2007 has been over for almost a month now, but people still can't stop talking about it. In case you haven't heard of it yet, the snowboarding competition was won by Emeric Front. UK's Nate Kern and France’s Frank Mossonier, on the other hand, took home the second and third prizes respectively.

As we've reported before, the band Scissor Sisters, alongside other amazing musicians DJ Martin Solveig and Drum and Bass players Fabio and Grooverider graced the show in Val D’Isère, France. The event also saw the release of Xbox Soundtracks which are all about finding new musicians who have been inspired by the Xbox 360's new generation high-def video games.

European fans and enthusiasts were also able to have Game with Fame sessions with the likes of snowboard riders Jakob Wilhelmson and Freddie Austbo, as well as DJ Russ of Cuban Brothers. Scissor Sisters' Martin Solvieg, Jake, and Babydaddy also logged on to Xbox Live and had a good time playing games with fans.

It would be remembered that Scissor Sisters was recently involved with the upcoming title, Halo Wars. During Xbox Big Day Out, the group openly discussed the track they were inspired to rework to Xbox 360 game footage from the video game.

How does Master Chief like the song, eh? - Image 1Scissor Sisters loved Halo Wars and went on to profess their appreciation for it by creating a special soundtrack for it. And apparently, their little idea of showing their fanboyisms ain't exclusive to them. Chris Oregron and his band actually did the same thing, but this time, for the Halo 3 installment.

Now, according to him, he thinks that this version of Bungie's Halo 3 theme actually should be the theme song of the game. It's rockin' and rollin', while still incorporating that "druid-like" moaning to give a more authentic feel to it. While some people found it cool, there are some who says that while it's good enough to make it on the soundtrack, it still ain't enough to brand it as the theme song.

You can go check it out right here for you to decide for yourself if his efforts sure are worth making it Halo 3's theme song.

The Scissor Sisters - Image 1 How would you like to see Halo Wars playing to the music of the disco, glam rock, pop band Scissor Sisters? That's definitely something new, and that ought to be something very interesting. Over at Xbox.com, they are currently having the Xbox Big Day Out for 2007, and it sure is proving to be one heck of an "Out Day" in more ways than one.

Apparently, the band, which is renowned as one of the more popular representatives of the New York gay-club scene, loved the Xbox 360 so much that they went ahead and did a special little something for it. The end result would be this special soundtrack as inspired by their fave game trailer. And you guessed it: Halo Wars.

Now, before any of you homophobes lash out and do your bashing, hold your tongues first, 'cause this post ain't meant for that. Rather, take this as a sure sign that the Xbox 360 is definitely made for everyone and anyone, regarding of their personal preferences or orientation. Besides, we all can do with some funk every now and then, right?

If your brows are still furrowed and your masculine ego still bruised, we suggest you listen to the track first before judging. The tune's pretty cool, catchy and fitting, actually.
