Sega releases line up for TGS 2007 - Image 1

The Tokyo Game Show is looming ever so near and we're prepping up for what the developers have in store for us. One such developer doesn't seem to want us guessing what they're offering come TGS: Sega. Sega's official website has been updated with their line-up for this year and we have to say the the list ain't too shabby. Not shabby at all.

Remember Ryu Ga Gotoku? It was better known as Yakuza on these and Europe's shores. Hopefully, we'll finally see a sequel (Ryu Ga Gotoku 2 doesn't really count as it was only released in Japan) and it's going to come busting to the PlayStation 3. It is currently called Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzen and is scheduled for spring of next year.

Sega is pretty much loaded in titles for the PS3, DS, PS2, and Wii, while the Xbox 360 and PSP rosters are a bit bare. The titles to keep an eye on are Bleach: The Third Phantom, Battlefield of the Valkyrie, Sonic Rush Adventure, and Ghost Squad, among others. Anyway, here's the list with their respective ETAs courtesy of Siliconera.

PlayStation 3
  • Imabi Kisou - Oct. 25
  • Sega Rally - Jan 2008
  • Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzen- Spring 2008
  • Battlefield of the Valkyrie - Spring 2008
  • The Golden Compass - Spring 2008
Wii
  • Ghost Squad - Oct 25
  • NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams - Dec 13
  • Mibiru & Tebri – Jan. 08
  • The Golden Compass - Spring 2008
  • Fushigi no Dungeon - Furai no Shiren 3: Karakuri Yashiki no Nemuri Hime - 2008
The rest of the list comes after the jump!

Senjou no Valkyrie (Battle Field Valkyrie) Teaser Site Opens - Image 1

If you've been waiting for more information on Sega's Senjou no Valkyrie (Battle Field Valkyrie), it doesn't look like you'll have to wait much longer. A teaser site has just opened for the game saying that it will be featured at this year's Tokyo Game Show.

This game is an original IP for the PlayStation 3 created by a few members of the Sakura Taisen development team. The gameplay is said to combine action, strategy, and RPG elements in one package. The game's distinctive visual style is due to the new graphical technique called Canvas which gives the look similar water color painting.

So, we'll probably be hearing more of this game as we creep closer to TGS 2007 which will be held between September 20 to 23. No release date has been announced yet for Japan and certain sites have labeled the game as unreleased in the U.S.

Hopefully, we'll be seeing an English version of this game heading our way if this becomes popular in Japan.

Where else can you play Sudoku with a martial arts twist? The best part is, it's going to the handhelds - PSP and DS. Zendoku promises some pretty interesting (albeit mind bending) gameplay.

Zendoku from Zoonami and Eidos looks fun and will definitely give players' gray matters working overtime. The minigames and the puzzles themselves look challenging. The characters are varied from the samurai Musashi, the Kendo master Sakura, the sumo wrestler Yatta, fencer Lorraine, the ninja Kingkage and the others. The trailers also show the training mode with the master. The classic Sudoku game is also in attendance, along with the game's grid game of symbols instead.

There hasn't been any official announcements as to Zendoku's release, but it was said to expect it this year. Might as well check out the screens and trailers while you're waiting. Enjoy!

Naruto - Image 1

The mischievous, orange ninja with a demon fox inside is gearing up towards another North American mission this fall as he boards the Wii and the DS along with the rest of the Konoha gang to thwart the nefarious Orochimaru and the dreaded Akatsuki.

Shonen Jump has revealed in its latest issue that some of its anime games are heading to the continent late this year for Nintendo's home and handheld consoles. Naruto Wii carries a surprise as a contest was held for fans to determine which Naruto character should appear exclusively in the American version.

On the other hand, Naruto Ninja Council 3 for the DS comes hot off the heels of its GBA predecessor. It comes with 50 playable missions and a multitude of characters to choose from including Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, Kakashi, Gai, Lee, Neji, Shikamaru and more. Players must choose which characters are best suited for each mission as everyone comes with his or her unique skills.

Shine those forehead protectors and don't forget your Kunais, Nintendo gamers. You'll have a busy ninja fall.

Naruto for the Wii

It's good to see that the Naruto games are starting to follow the manga storyline (which has moved way past the filler episode ridden TV show). Naruto's taller now, and can now use the wind element. Sakura's as strong as an OX. And bishie-evil-boy Sasuke now has a nice sword and a new means for using his "chidori."

These scans of Shonen Jump feature images of Naruto and Sakura in combat. Click on the thumbnails to see the details.

The game should be presented to the general (presumably Japanese) public for the first time at the Jump Fiesta 2007 which will be held on December 16th and 17th near Tokyo. The game should hit Japanese retail towards the end the first quarter 2007.

If you've been following the manga, you'll get the image I'll end this post with.

Death, smoking, and the rain

We just can’t get enough of Naruto, can we? Well Jump is making another game for Naruto fans, this time providing a graphically impressive arena and design.  The name of the game is Naruto Shinobu Retsuden. In English, it would mean Naruto, the Ninja Line of Tradition. From the looks of the screens, it’s another versus game. However, unlike most of the cell-shaded Naruto games that have been released in the market, this game is giving our Kotonoha ninjas a pretty render.

Famitsu runs down 6 characters that will be playable in the game. These are Naruto, Sasuke, Neji, Kakashi, Sakura, and Rock Lee. There will definitely be more characters available for play, but until the next update, let’s just oggle over Sasuke beating the crap out of Naruto.

naruto

After being so quiet about the game for sooo long, Ubisoft has released the first screenshots of Naruto on the Xbox360. The action game is based on Shonen Jump's hit manga, where Uzumaki Naruto, who is infused with the spirit of a Nine-Tailed Fox demon, plays as a ninja-in-training who is learning the art of ninjutsu with friends Sakura and Sasuke.

The three friends will train under the instruction of Kakashi, who helps them face dangerous tests and challenges, through which the young ninjas-in-training will learn the value of teamwork, loyalty, creativity, hardwork, and friendship. Currently in development in Ubisoft Montreal's studios, Naruto will be the first Japanese franchise to be developed by the French company.

The game is scheduled for release next year in North America and Europe.
