Nokia - Image 1

If you thought Nokia's partnership with YouTube and Reuters was big, you have no idea how much bigger the loop of friends gets for the mobile handset giant. The company has announced through a press release that it now has deals with fellow giants CNN, IBN, Jamba, Sony Pictures, RooftopComedy, ROK, and Versaly Entertainment.

Under the deal, all of these media and film firms will have content on Nokia's Video Center placed on display, ready to be accessed by N-Series phones via 3G, Wi-Fi, or PC.

The alliance expands the Nokia Video Center's content capabilities and gives Nokia N-Series users one simple place to stop and get content in order to satisfy their video cravings. Be it news, copyrighted clips, or user content, users will find something they like here.

PSP-Devolution modchip - Image 1

It's taken longer than expected, but the team behind PSP-Devolution, a new modchip for the Sony PSP handheld system, have finally announced a release date. According to PSP-Devolution.com, sales of the PSP-Devolution modchip should commence on April 16.

The delays are apparently due to "some important improvements" that needed to be done in order to ensure top performance from the modchip. The developers of the modchip also say that they have made the PSP-Devolution modchip smaller by using 4 layer technology.

All resellers who have expressed interest in the PSP-Devolution modchip will be informed of the release details via email. New inquiries are also welcome. If you missed our previous post regarding the PSP-Devolution modchip, here's a list of its features:
  • Flash your PSP using the internal USB Port
  • No additional USB Port required
  • Latest ACTEL ProASIC 3 technology
  • Low power consumption
  • Works on all available PSP versions incl. TA-082 and TA-086
  • Custom BIOS with a lot of cool additional features
  • Easy to install
  • Just a bit of soldering skills required, no hardcore installation
Thanks to Rok for the tip!

Free TV for your phone. Wish I could try it myself. If you have a pretty advanced phone, no matter where you are in the world, this seems to be a pretty useful addition for your phone to get rid of boring commutes or long waits. It's called FreeBe TV, and it's just what the name says it is - free television for your mobile phone.

Instead of paying for the privilege of watching specific content on your phone, FreeBe TV lets you view cartoons while waiting, or even some extreme racing if you feel like it. There are currently four channels available for the service: an extreme sports channel, a comedy channel, and channels for classic cartoons and movies. While ROK, the company that offers the FreeBe TV service, says it's free, you may have to check with your phone operators for charges you might have to pay for all the GPRS data transferring you'll be doing.

Below is a list of phones that'll work with the service. Check to see if you can try out, and let us know how good the service is, alright?
  • LG: Fusic CU-500
  • Motorola: V3X
  • Nokia: 6630, 6680, 6681, 7610, N70, N73, N80, N90, N93
  • Samsung: A940, A900, SGH-ZX20, D730
  • Sanyo: MM7500, MVP
  • Sony Ericsson: W600i, W800i, W810i, K750i, W550i, K800i
