RPG Fan is reporting that a first generation PS2 title comes to the PlayStation Portable in the form of Shadow of Memories (aka Shadow of Destiny in US). Some eight years since its original launch no the PS2 in 2001, Konami is now expanding the game experience by making it portable.

Nine months after it was first released in Japan, Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto IV for the PlayStation 3 (game also on Xbox 360) is now to be sold under the PlayStation: The Best budget line in the country.

"I would expect there would be two more pieces of downloadable content for GTA IV (Xbox 360, PS3), that's what  has been indicated to me, although formats are unsure," he said. "It's been indicated to me that would be the case." Apart from that, he is also of the belief that a Part 5 will be coming to join the franchise sometime in the 2011 fiscal year, as well as a possible new GTA title for the PS2 as early as next year.

Microsoft, as it turns out, is embroiled in a long-drawn battle over the ownership of the patent for their online service Xbox Live. As it turns out, they are being sued by Peter Hochstein and Jeffrey Tenenbaum for  infringing on their patent of a method for "communicating live while playing the same video game in separate locations." Despite predicting that the PS2 will not have as much influence in the market in 2009 like it used to, Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter still believes in the PlayStation power, saying that the brand will account for 31% of all the games sold worldwide in 2009. More after the jump.

Following yesterday's report that a Sony patent was spotted, pointing to a purely software-based solution to the PS2 emulation issue, TheSixthAxis reports that the PS2 emulation issue isn't due to the Emotion Engine, which is already up and running. The problem lies with the Graphics Synthesizer, which now appears to be an obstacle to downloadable PS2 games on the PlayStation Store.

Seems like 2K Sports is rolling out the red carpet for the 10th anniversary of the NBA 2K franchise. Team Xbox reports that a special limited collector's edition of NBA 2K10 is in the works.
