Nintendo Wii video game news - Image 1Well we all know how much of a problem data storage is on the Wii, but it seems Nintendo's solution might be a bit overkill. A newly uncovered patent indicates that they are looking into holographic data storage, what may very well be the next media storage tech after Blu-ray, with future models being developed to hold up to 1.6 terabytes of space. Nintendo Wii video game news and updates - Image 1Remember Anascape Ltd.? It's that company who claimed that Nintendo infringed on their patents for some of their controller designs. They won the previous court battles, and now Nintendo is facing a ban on sales of some of their controllers, including the Wii Classic Controller and the GameCube controller. Nintendo patents a new Wii controller - Image 1Well at least Nintendo won't be sued for it this time. According to a patent filed a few months ago, Nintendo has a controller that a) never saw the light of day or b) hasn't seen the light of day yet.  At any rate, it looks as if it belongs more on an Xbox 360 rather than a Wii. But then we don't even really know if it's for the Wii. Details in the full article.
