Well we all know how much of a problem data storage is on the Wii, but it seems Nintendo's solution might be a bit overkill. A newly uncovered patent indicates that they are looking into holographic data storage, what may very well be the next media storage tech after Blu-ray, with future models being developed to hold up to 1.6 terabytes of space. Details in the full article. |

Remember Anascape Ltd.? It's that company who claimed that Nintendo infringed on their patents for some of their controller designs. They won the previous court battles, and now Nintendo is facing a ban on sales of some of their controllers, including the Wii Classic Controller and the GameCube controller. So I guess US$ 21 million wasn't enough for Anascape? Story in the full article. |

A lot of people were stunned when Konami filed a lawsuit against Harmonix recently. Apparently, the Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) devs are among those surprised too. Nevertheless, they kept their cool and issued a statement in response. Details in the full article. |

Well at least Nintendo won't be sued for it this time. According to a patent filed a few months ago, Nintendo has a controller that a) never saw the light of day or b) hasn't seen the light of day yet. At any rate, it looks as if it belongs more on an Xbox 360 rather than a Wii. But then we don't even really know if it's for the Wii. Details in the full article. |

This news is just about to fire up more theories regarding the much-desired PSP Phone. Sony has just been awarded patent rights for a "hand-held [sic] device with touchscreen and digital tactile pixels." While there's nothing in it to clearly indicate this is for a PSP Phone, it still feeds our imaginations something mighty, don't it? Read more after the jump. |

The Wiimote is surely catching the eye of many manufacturers - even Microsoft and Sony have recently been rumored to come up with new controllers that seem to be taking a page from Nintendo's waggler. Evidence of a new patent from Apple hints of a new remote control system similar to Nintendo's Wiimote controller. The new filing was recently sighted on the US Patent & Trademark Office website and outlined the technical specifications for it, along with several possible applications. You can read more about the latest patent idea from Apple by clicking on the "read more" link found below. |
