shyness - Image 1If you're middle-aged and still without a partner or you tend to crack in tense situations, scientists at the University of Zurich in Switzerland have got just the thing for you: a spray that kills shyness and jitters.

The secret is in the hormone oxytocin which the body naturally creates when one is in love or delivering a child. By creating a synthetic version of the hormone, scientists have discovered practical applications of the discovery.

In a small study, 70 people who were complaining of shyness and anxiety were asked to try the spray. It was delivered in the nostrils and inhaled by the testers. The results, according to researchers, were dramatic as everyone went into social functions and other nerve-pinching events and all of them claimed great results.

The study is set to be taken into a wider scale with a larger sample set to work with. If the whole thing is not derailed, we could see the first market versions launched within the next half decade.
