One of the highly anticipated titles from last year was Chronos Twin. The platformer title hasn't gotten much media exposure for the past year, so much so that a lot of people thought that it was nothing but vaporware. Fortunately, it's not after all. Oxygen Games has finally tapped the press wire with a fact sheet for their original IP, right in time for its eventual street date on October 12. Here's what we can expect:
  • Upgradeable weapons, special moves, time-travelling enemies
  • Freeze time to complete puzzles
  • Play simultaneously in the past and the present
  • Simultaneous offensive and defensive play across both screens
  • The option to split or merge time across dual screens
  • Unique characteristics in each screen 'world'
  • Designed with a gradual learning curve to ease the player into the game
  • Levels include deserts, caverns, temples, and technological worlds
If that doesn't make sense to you, we're not surprised. Chronos Twin's gameplay has always somehow been easier to describe with visuals. Below is a video we scored from the same press release. It's actually pretty much the same as the gameplay video we've seen last year, but for all intents and purposes, it's already been a year since we've seen it so some of you guys might want to jog your memory. That, and the video is slightly different as it's been refurbished for its coming launch. Check it out:

Nintendo Wii owners will be treated to a new golfing game called King of Clubs very soon by Oxygen Games. Don't expect Tiger Woods to drop by this one anytime soon, though. It's a fantasy and puzzle-flavored whack-a-thon that will bend your mind with insane courses like this one:

Yeah, that was pretty much on of the most exciting trailers ever devised. It makes you think real deep about life, its meaning, and some images of mimes may even play in a viewer's mind. According to the press release by the developers, the objective here is to escape. Quick, someone call Sigmund Freud!

We certainly hope that new trailers for King of Clubs will be a tad less on the philosophical side. This upcoming game seems really entertaining and it wouldn't hurt to get a better idea of what other things are in store for us.

Details on PDC World Championship Darts 2008 - Image 1Details on PDC World Championship Darts 2008 - Image 2

Darts enthusiasts listen. Today's your lucky day because Oxygen Games has just released new details about its upcoming game PDC World Championship Darts 2008 for Nintendo Wii, PC, and PlayStation 2. The game will become available in December.

Oxygen Games used genuine darts' physics, meaning different barrel weights affect a player's throws - that definitely does make the gameplay experience more realistic. The company added that for this year's iteration of the franchise, intuitive and fluid as well as accurate throwing dynamics was given emphasis.

AI was also improved. The real-life averages of real PDC players from all of the major tournaments were calculated, not to mention the fact that each in-game character has been developed with the real player in mind (throwing styles, attitudes, quirks etc.). The game also offers a career mode, featuring the seven major tournaments in the PDC calendar.

The Wii version of PDC World Championship Darts 2008 has also been made compatible with the console's motion-sensing Wiimote controller.

Chegwin - Image 1Controversial host Keith Chegwin has been hired by game outfit Oxygen Games to host their new title Cheggers' Party Quiz, set to be released in this year's last quarter for the PS2, PC, and Nintendo Wii.

The game will feature the TV personality asking more than a thousand questions which all have references to the entertainment industry. Players must rack their brains for every shred of media savvy because the items range from the easy to the downright stumping.

Chegwin is most popular for an edition of his show Naked Jungle where all of the participants including Chegwin himself taped the duration of the episode without an inch of clothing on.

"Who doesn't love Cheggers?" asks Jim Scott, Oxygen's CEO. He then goes on to describe the host as the perfect choice for the role as he is incredibly popular and a lot of fun to watch.

Here's a new trailer video for PlayStation Portable poker video game title World Championship Poker 2. It should be remembered that Oxygen Games recently clarified the confusion with this game as it is oftentimes mistaken for its Xbox 360 brother World Championship 2: All In.

Anyway, WCP 2 has a lot of features poker players and enthusiasts will find remarkable and exciting. One of which is its online capability that allows gamers to play with up to eight players in one go. There are also several modes like Know the Nuts, Hold'em Nicknames, and Tell Quiz that are unique to the PSP version.

World Championship Poker 2 also offers 14 different types of poker games with different levels of simulation for players of different levels. Other worth mentioning features include Create-a-Player and the Skill System which allows in-game characters to improve through experience.

Nintendo announces Q3 European release lineup - Image 1

And while Japanese gaming giant is enjoying breakneck sales in both the handheld DS or the new-gen console Wii, Nintendo Europe is still opening up a whole barrel of summer loving for Nintendo gamers in the region. While Asia and North America have already enjoyed some of the titles going to be announced here, they're hoping the highly acclaimed titles will also do well in PAL regions.

Touch! Generations' Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree leads the lineup for the Wii console, followed by Atlus' Trauma Center: Second Opinion. To close up the top three is Nintendo's spin-off from a spin-off of a spin-off, Super Paper Mario, landing finally in the UK.

And the top three of the Nintendo DS release list has the bestselling Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl from Nintendo leading the pack. Nintendo's Tingle's Rose Rupeeland ships Tingle with his own RPG title, separate from the Legend of Zelda franchise. Rhythm title Elite Beat Agents from iNiS rounds up the upper batch, carrying popular songs from the likes of Ashlee Simpson, David Bowie and Beyonce among some.

WCP2 for PSP this July - Image 1WCP2 for PSP this July - Image 2

Oxygen Games sent QJ.net an email concerning two of its poker video game titles namely World Championship Poker 2 for the PlayStation Portable and World Championship Poker 2: All In for Xbox 360. It seems that fans are having a hard time to distinguish the two games from each other.

According to Oxygen, the Xbox 360 version of the title is very different from the PSP one. To begin with, All In is not just a subtitle as it indicates that it's a follow up to predecessor World Championship Poker 2. The PSP version now, alongside its PC and PS2 brothers, are that predecessor.

Much has been said about WCP2: All In but WCP2 for the handheld console is oftentimes neglected because of the confusion. Take note that the PSP game allows players online multiplayer options for up to eight people. There are also mini games available that can only be found in the WCP2. These are:
  • Flop Odds: the player gets certain hold cards, plus a target hand type and has to figure out the percentage chance of getting the specified hand when the board cards would be shown
  • Know the Nuts: the player is shown the community cards for a hand and then given the option to select the hole cards they need to make the best hand
  • Hold 'em Nicknames: players are prompted with a nickname for a set of cards and have to use the directional buttons to match up the suit and value of each card with the specified nickname
  • Tell Quiz: the player is given multiple choice questions that will train them to spot opponents tells
  • Know Your Outs: in this game, the player is shown their hole cards, the community cards and a guess as to what the opponent has. Based on this information, they must try to figure out the exact numbers of "outs" (the number of specific cards that can help to beat opponents)
  • Glossary Quiz: The player will be given multiple choice questions about Poker game terminology
There. That should finally clear the confusion. Lastly both World Championship Poker 2 and World Championship Poker 2: All In will be available this July.
