PSP tubeThis mod comes from Ardatan. It's a mod of JK108's Ultimate PSPTube mod, which is, in turn, a mod of SofiyaCat's PSPTube. Ardatan's mod is based off of JK108's v2.0, and this one makes Ultimate PSPTube load faster by allocating/unlocking more memory for it - sort of like what the Netfront Internet Browser does.

PSP - Image 1PSP Homebrew coder Mr305 dropped by the QJ.Net Forums earlier to announce the release of WIFI Power Saver Plugin v1. According to the author, this homebrew plugin is a quick and easy way to turn off the PSP's WiFi function via a simple button-press.

This was designed to help PSP owners using their unit's web browser to make the most out of their PSP's battery life by turning off unneeded systems. This first release has been reported to work on 3.40 OE-A, and does not appear to conflict with other plugins.

As Mr305 states, "In the NetFront Web Browser, in case you haven't noticed this, even with WLAN Power Save on, the PSP remains connected to Access Point even after page is fully loaded, which greatly draws the battery power." To turn off your WiFi, press Down + Square. Clicking on site links and searching will reactivate your WiFi connection.

Installation instructions should be available at Mr305's release thread over at the QJ.Net Forums - head on over in case you need other related details. Enjoy the download!

LocationFree is nice! - Image 1

Well this is an interesting application, if only for the possible extensions you might happen to get it to work with. We found this little application for sale on a Japanese website, and it's suppose to let you watch TV on your Pocket PCs, regardless of where you happen to be in the world.

The app, called Netfront LocationFree Player, says (in mechanized English translation) that it allows "you connect to the based station by way of LAN or Luther, to enjoy television program and the program etc. which was videotaped in the DVD recorder." The player sells for ¥ 1,980 (US$ 16) though, so it's not for everyone.

While that might be great for the Pocket PC or other PDA, we're actually thinking of how this could best be manipulated or expanded on. Some of us were imagining what it would be like if someone found a way to get this to work on the PSP. Of course, we do have Winnydows' Xvid4PSP application for that bit of video playing, but an app that lets you watch stuff automatically on the PSP around the world is also very cool.

Now, does anyone want to help us translate it more accurately?
