Pandemic may have closed down but the Mercenaries franchise will still be going strong. Staying true to their earlier statements that Pandemic's key franchises will live on, Electronic Arts recently announced that a new Mercenaries game is on the way.

Two new scenarios, a souped-up new Mercenaries, additional costumes, extra figures for the Library - that's what's coming for Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition. Most of those have already been specified, trailerized, or screenshot-ized, but one of the two scenarios was always listed as TBA - not anymore. If the BBFC has it right, the second scenario is called "Desperate Escape."

You might've noticed that the Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition news we've been posting have been devoid the mention of PC release info. The reason is simple - there's no info to begin with. Despite Resident Evil 5 being available for the PS3, Xbox 360, and the PC, Capcom has apparently decided to release the DLC only for the consoles. At least that's the way things are for now.

If you thought that the Alternative Edition DLC for Resident Evil 5 was simply going to be a single scenario and motion control support, think again. Famitsu got the goods once again with a two-page spread on the upcoming add-on, revealing more content than previously revealed.

When Capcom asked its community members if they wanted DLC or a separate game for Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition, they really wanted answers. As it turns out, more folks and heavier reasoning said they'd rather have DLC. Giving in to consumer preference, the publisher decided to have the version as downloadable content.

SCEA has announced a new downloadable map pack for SOCOM: Confrontation is on the way. Known simply as the Cold Front pack, it will be loaded with new features and contents, including a brand new snowy Eastern European area of operations. It will also include two new maps and three classic SOCOM maps for 16 to 32 players.

Capcom has unveiled the system requirements for the upcoming Resident Evil 5 on the PC. The game which features include support for NVIDIA’s new GeForce 3D Vision technology, new costumes and a new and improved mercenaries mode will be released on September 14.

In celebration of BattleTech's 25th anniversary, Smith & Tinker has given MekTek the go signal for MechWarrior 4 to be distributed for free on BattleTech.com. It's a nice way of getting old fans reacquainted with the series as well as to draw interest for the new MechWarrior reboot for PC and Xbox 360.
