Homebrew coder bboyjcm is back with a new update for his Homebrew Portal Launcher, a homebrew app  that allows you to boot portals directly via the game folder of your PSP. The new update has added new features like HighMemoryMod V4 support courtesy of P86 and is said to be much faster than the initial release.

Uffe Flarup whips up another homebrew game, and if you've got the Homebrew Channel installed in your Wii, you're good to go. This one's called Hex - not the spell you use to turn people into little critters - but a game based on the two-player board game created by Piet Hein and John Nash.

Is Patty the lady pirate coming to the Xbox 360 version of Tales of Vesperia? As if it wasn't bad enough that the PlayStation 3 version will be getting her for sure, word's been going around that she will be coming the the green console as well -- a rather big tease, I'd say.

This mod comes from Ardatan. It's a mod of JK108's Ultimate PSPTube mod, which is, in turn, a mod of SofiyaCat's PSPTube. Ardatan's mod is based off of JK108's v2.0, and this one makes Ultimate PSPTube load faster by allocating/unlocking more memory for it - sort of like what the Netfront Internet Browser does.

Wondering what's good on the tube? Here's a very nice homebrew for your PSP that'll fix that problem. PSP PPG allows you to display English TV listings on your PSP using custom firmware. It serves as a TV guide that uses the XMLTV format to generate listings. Those in the UK might want to give this thing a shot.

The PSP started the year with a bang, and then it quickly cooled off. The DS never really peaked, but a constant stream of gaming goodness flowed forth. Not really a banner year for either platform, but there were quite a few gems. Oh, and one game seems to have clobbered the rest into submission...

The battery-saving plugin gets an update. This baby extends your much-needed PSP battery life, which gets dead useful when you're playing outdoors. It's still a bit rough around the edges, but it's coming along pretty good. More info and changelog in the full article.
