Rumor: simultaneous release of Super Mario Galaxy and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games? - Image 1

A Gamefaqs posting show both Super Mario Galaxy and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games having the same release date in Europe. If this is the case, wouldn't this be disadvantageous to both games (in terms of initial sales) considering some Wii owners might only be able to afford one of the two at launch?

Other sites such as IGN haven't listed the Europe release as of yet, so there's no way of confirming this rumor. It also seems a bit strange since Nintendo has rarely, if ever, had simultaneous game releases. The company has a tendency to stagger the launch dates of their titles.

All things considered though, this may not be as bad as some would think. If a person wants to pick up both games but can only afford one at the moment, there's nothing stopping him from picking up the other one up at a later date.

Crisis Core secret cinematic confirms Final Fantasy VII remake? - Image 1

According to Kouli, a member of the Gamefaqs Boards, Square Enix is indeed making a Final Fantasy VII remake. Proof of this can be found in a secret trailer video at the end of PSP game Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. We know, and maybe Kouli knows as well, that this is something hard to believe but he has got some screenshots for the naysayers.

The forum member said that one has to finish the game twice and after the credits has finished rolling, the secret cinematic will begin to play. It was also said that the video is quite similar to the one shown at E3 2005 in the Final Fantasy PlayStation 3 Tech Demo.

It is uncertain, however, if the rumored Final Fantasy VII remake will be released on the PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Portable. Both Square Enix and Sony has yet to comment on the matter. Until they do, we're putting this one for now in our rumor basket.

Sly Cooper - Image 1Late last month, rumors of Sly Cooper moving on to the next gen arena graced QJ.NET. Understandably, this excited a lot of Sly Cooper fans, especially since the rumor also mentioned that the titles would be officially revealed at this year's E3. The bad news is that apparently the whole thing isn't true.

According to IGN, both Sony and the U.S. branch of PlayStation Magazine (PSM) have dismissed the rumor as false. The rumor started out as a forum post on GameFAQs that allegedly had snippets off a Sucker Punch interview in PSM. IGN contacted PSM editor-in-chief Rob Smith about the rumor, but Smith said that no such interview appeared on PSM.

Sony Computer Entertainment PR manager Jennifer Clark, meanwhile, added that "there have been no announcements made in regards to future Sly Cooper products and there are no plans for the franchise to appear at this year's E3. Any information that has recently been reported is pure rumor and speculation."

Sucker Punch has not yet commented on the issue, but it has been confirmed that the company is working on at least one project for next gen consoles.

Can't wait for Monster Hunter Freedom 2 to come out? Guys at the GameFAQs forums sure can't. Some of them have already invested hours playing the Japanese version, Monster Hunter Portable 2nd, while some are anticipating a patch that would translate most essential text to English.

A poster by the name of ZealOfSoul claims to be working on a patch with proof to back him up. He posted several images on the forum and uploaded a video on YouTube. Most of the menus in his Japanese version of MHP2nd are now in English, from the title screen to in-game. Shops are complete with translated item descriptions. Dialogues and quest descriptions are still in Japanese though.

Many are still skeptic about this, being too good to be true. Other posters say he used image or video editing tools, but others state that translation isn't much of a big deal with the PSP. The method mostly suggested that ZealOfSoul is using is extracting the ISO and editing the text there.

In his last update, ZealOfSoul stated that the patch is in beta stage. Errors are still being removed here and there, but it looks like all the important stuff are translated. He's also still deciding how (if ever at all) to release his work, after receiving so much requests to share what was supposed to be a project for him and his friends alone.

Ramza FFT - Image 1

A source of ours managed to get us a Japanese retail copy of Square Enix's Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War. The Squeenix heads here at QJ scream all scream "Booyah!" Given that there's a language barrier, and the sheer hours of play-through required sort of hampers us in coming up with a full-blown review for a game of this nature, for now, here are our initial impressions on the much hyped PSP remake.

As of this witting, I have only managed to make it to the first few skirmishes. Okay, I know, that's bad, but I'm playing with a Japanese menu, without a guide, so lighten up okay?

First of, the opening sequence. Great stuff. The faux-cell shaded pencil sketched artwork and the nostalgic music is awesome enough to send chills up the spine of anyone who's played the original. The temptation to wail away and waste a hundred words to explaining how amazing the intro is high, but we'll not go there. Instead, we'll say that what's best about it, from a gameplay-perspective, is that they load fast, almost instantly actually, and more importantly, you can skip it (and all the other animated cutscenes).
