Brother/sister (no, not really) duo The White Stripes will be making their Rock Band debut next week via a track pack featuring three of their songs. For the handheld rhythm gamers, No Doubt and Dropkick Murphys are also on the way to Rock Band Unplugged's in-game music store.

To this day, Yasunori Mitsuda's work remains among the best music known to gaming. In case you didn't know, Mitsuda's the guy behind the accompaniment of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Now, the crew of OverClocked ReMix pays tribute to the composer with the re-imagination of his work on Xenogears.

Ahh video game music. We love hearing the ones from our favorite games even after we've heard them over and over in-game. For Final Fantasy XIII (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3), we haven't even played the game yet, but those who are about to play this vid will be treated to an orchestral performance of the game's music. Sweet.

This week on the US PlayStation Store: The video store is getting new and improved content starting today - count theatrical trailers, movie bonus footage and free TV episodes into that list. As for the DLC, there's a truckload for BlazBlue and Cross Edge - if you're playing those, you'd want to take a look. Homebrew coder Slappy has released Quadrax, a logical homebrew game based on Quadrax IV: The Secrets of Pyramid  for the Nintendo Wii. The latest update now features much improved graphics, a new minimap, music and more.

You know you're a gamer when you find yourself humming to the music of your favorite games, or when you recognize some stranger's SMS message tone to be from Metal Gear. Ah yes, the games we play and the music that comes with them. For Austin Wintory, composer of the music of flOw, his fill of game music didn't come in the form of mere hums and ringtones - he got the Golden State Pops Orchestra to play them.

Five new tracks are set for download in Rock Band Unplugged's in-game music store. Once again, these tracks span disparate genres -- from country to alternative rock to Texas blues. Hit the jump for the list.

Since the death of Michael Jackson last week, the internet has come alive with tributes for the late King of Pop. One of them is this mod of Left 4 Dead (PC, Xbox 360), where the game music is replaced by some of Jacko's most popular songs. And when it comes to the Left 4 Dead, it doesn't get any cooler than Thriller.

Rock Band Unplugged is all set and rarin' to go (is in fact leaked already) as the full track list and DLC are revealed. There are a wide range of music to choose from, spanning five rockin' and rollin' decades, with the first batch of ten DCL tracks coming your way via the in-game music store once the game hits you on June 9, 2009.
