Funcom is enticing former Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures players to come back with some free game time and, if they choose to renew their subscription, a guaranteed spot on the open beta test for the upcoming MMO, The Secret World (PC, Xbox 360). Details in the full article.

Funcom's sent out a press release today announcing the discounts they are offering for your Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures subscriptions. You asked for it, you got it. Details after the jump.

This one's definitely no rumor. Funcom itself has announced on their official homepage that they are cutting "around 20% of the staff...mostly in the Company's Norwegian subsidiary."

MMO creator Funcom is setting another mission for you to complete, with the revelation of a new heroine off to slay dreadful monsters. I'd have to say this debut trailer for The Secret World is looking like a cross between Parasite Eve (the flames), Silent Hill (the room layout), and Mirror's Edge (the heroine looks like Faith's younger sister). After having its subscriber base shoot up to as much as 700,000 a few months after release, the popular massively multiplayer online RPG Age of Conan isn't as massively multiplayer anymore. According to an estimate by E24, Age of Conan has no more than 100,000 subscribers left. More info inside.

Here's another console port from the PC that's literally taking ages to get to it. Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures from Funcom was first announced for the Xbox 360 waaaay back in December of 2006. Fast forward to January of 2009, two years later, and where's it at? Still in development.

A sure sign that you're losing players is when you have to reduce the number of your servers. This is precisely what's happening with Funcom's Age of Conan as the company closes down over half of their servers, this revealed in their very own forums.
