OMG: Diablo 3 to be announced at Paris' World Wide Invitational? - Image 1Rumor mill history is repeating itself as we find yet another bout of rumor-spreading akin to how StarCraft 2 whispers started, and this time it's for yet another of Blizzard's epic franchises: Diablo. Buzz elevated Blizzard's acquisition of Diablo3.com, followed by the changing displays on the splash page, showing references of runes to Diablo 2. Now it's only been heightened even more as Blizzard's VP of design revealed that they have sensational revelation to be made at the WWI in Paris. Will the rumors have the same fate as SC2 and will Diablo 3 be finally announced?

The patent described a virtual network telecommunications service called BattleChat for World of Warcraft. Blizzard confirms: Starcraft Ghost never 'technically canceled' - Image 1Did you hear that? That's probably the simultaneous breath of relief from console gamers all over the globe. Why? DICE 08: Blizzard lists cancelled games throughout company's history - Image 1If you thought you knew everything about Blizzard, think again. Methinks someone will have to update the company's Wikipedia page soon, for while Blizzard Entertainment's top dogs took to the stage at DICE 08, they revealed the company's history in a segment called "From Developer to Worldwide Publisher." And with the reminiscing came a little eye-opener: a list of games they've cancelled over the 17 years of their existence.

Blizzard vice president of product development Frank Pearce - Image 1Will there be a World of Warcraft 2? Possibly, but according to Blizzard Executive VP of Product Development Frank Pearce, the company hasn't been thinking of making a sequel to World of Warcraft just yet.
