This is by far the best argument I have heard on the whole "violent games" issue that the media decided to make a carnival of. A new study says that various groups - politicians, the media - promote the hysterical beliefs of video game violence because they present a simpler solution than the real problems.Full story after the link. |

Poster ads for Rockstar North's controversial Grand Theft Auto 4 (Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3) were pulled out from Chicago buses and transit spaces a few days after they were put up, and publisher Take-Two Interactive certainly wasn't pleased. T2 sued the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) due to breach of contract and free speech violation. More details in the full article. |

Now that Rockstar North's Grand Theft Auto 4 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) is already gold, we can expect more advertisements to come not just from skyscrapers. However, in Chicago, don't expect to find any GTA4-related ads from buses as they have all been removed. More details after the jump. |

Another response came from psychology expert and self-help author Cooper Lawrence regarding her admittedly misinformed statements about Mass Effect and its sex scene. In her latest note to MTV News, Lawrence explained that she went live as a developmental-psychology expert, not an expert on Mass Effect. For more details, check out the full article. |

The allegations on Fox News that Mass Effect for the Xbox 360 had pornography in it sparked a lot violent reactions from gamers. Interestingly enough, Jack Thompson has let the issue slide saying that he has no problem with the game and that the comments made about it were uninformed. Head on over to the full article for the complete story. |

Psychology expert and self-help author Cooper Lawrence who appeared on the segment that featured EA's Mass Effect in bad light has admitted her mistakes, saying she "misspoke" about full nudity and graphic sex scenes in Mass Effect. Lawrence is currently weathering a storm raging on the internet caused by her remark on Fox News. More details at the full article. |

Publisher Electronic Arts is still keen on protecting the developers at BioWare who were insulted after Fox News labeled Mass Effect as a not-so-nice video game inappropriately marketed to kids and teenagers who shouldn't be watching graphic sex scenes that even involve aliens. The segment in question's producer almost seems unfazed by EA's letter detailing mistakes it wants corrected, but the gaming industry giant intends to fight. Check out the full article for more details. |
