The Dolphin Team has recently released a new update of the Unofficial SVN build of Dolphin, a Gamecube and Nintendo Wii emulator for Windows. The latest SVN build offers lot's of new features, bug fixes and various improvements.

Great news to all Wii emulator fans! Homebrew coders tehpola, sepp256 and emu_kidid has release the first beta of Wii64, a port of the ever-popular multi-OS Nintendo 64 emulator, Mupen64, to the Nintendo Wii and Gamecube through the libOGC library.

Homebrew coder Lino is back to release another round of update for iDeaS, a Nintendo DS emulator for Windows and Linux.  The latest update is a bug fix release.

A new update for the TurboGrafx-16 (also known as PC Engine) emulator for the PSP has been released by an unknown Japanese coder. The PCE emulator has now been updated to version 0.82b3. The latest update is a bug fix release.

Homebrew coder gocha has released a much improved version of DeSmuME, a Nintendo DS emulator for PC. DeSmuME ReRecording is based on the previews version 0.9.4 release with some added new features like less desyncs, path settings, lag reduction options and more bug fixes.

Homebrew coder ZodTTD has released a new update for snes4iphone, a port of the Super Nintendo emulator for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The latest update is a feature pack release with a lot of improvements and some other bug fixes. More info after the link.

The issue of backwards compatibility on the PS3 console is dead and buried, as far as John Koller is concerned. SCEA's director of hardware marketing nailed down the final coffin on the issue in a recent interview.

Damn, after all these years I still haven't gotten over my seething hatred for the dog in Duck Hunt and that annoying little smirk of his. Anyway, the past seven days proved to be a very lean time for the PSP blog's homebrew section. While the emulation scene got some action thanks to updates to some of the more popular emulators out there, the applications side of things didn't fare so well.
