Xenogears - Image 1To this day, Yasunori Mitsuda's work remains among the best music known to gaming. In case you didn't know, Mitsuda's the guy behind the accompaniment of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Now, the crew of OverClocked ReMix pays tribute to the composer with the re-imagination of his work on Xenogears.

Nu - Image 1The time-traveling classic, Chrono Trigger, from the then Enix-less Squaresoft is definitely one of the best RPGs of its generation, with an equally stimulating soundtrack to stir you up. But just when you thought you've heard it all, some guys apparently found the subtle midi melodies not down enough, so here they are, jamming to the Crono's theme music, the Chrono Trigger Rap.

Oh, before I forget, there's gonna be some language, be advised.

Megaman 2.5D - Image 1For those who haven't heard yet, Mega Man 2.5D is a fan-made project created by Swedish animator Peter Sjostrand. "2.5D" simply means that the game is right between 2D and 3D, taking Sjostrand's definition of 2.5D of course. This new vid came out earlier today, and for those who grew up with Mega Man like me, seeing MegaMan and ProtoMan work together is fangasm at its finest.

The Nintendo Weekend Warrior - Image 1Lots of big news for this week's recap, so you'd better stay comfy. There's a hell lot of games coming to the Wii and DS in 2009, and we have news on the biggest that the two platforms are gonna get - whether they're the Pokemon remakes, Monster Hunter 3, and a bunch of retro WiiWare games, we've got ya covered. With a lot of games coming, it probably explains why the DS sold a million last April, so the new DS owners will have a lot to play and choose from. Quit wasting your time reading this babble, 'cause you're gonna read them again in the full article. Or not.

Crimson Echoes to stop at 98% completion - Image 1Even if Chrono Trigger stands as one of the best RPGs ever to come out the then Squaresoft bag of tricks, you might say that Square Enix didn't follow-up on the fame as well as the fans would like. So along came Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes, a fan-created ROM hack sequel to the time-travelling adventures of Crono and company. Unfortunately for the devs of the project, Square Enix just whipped out the dreaded C&D order, demanding that they destroy the 98% complete project. You might feel as bad as I do especially after you watch the trailer.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years - Image 1The WiiWare direct sequel to Cecil and Rosa's crystal-hunting adventure, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, just updated its official site and we now have a better idea of what the game will look like. But the interesting part here is that the product information reveals that After Years is gonna have support for 1-4 players, which should add a great twist to the gameplay which we still know very little about right now.

fail - Image 1You've seen every screenshot, watched every movie, pre-ordered and camped out to get a hold of the game on day one, frantically ripped off the wrapping, shoved it into your machine of choice and then... disappointmenton. Here's how we felt, what about you folks?

Cloud Message - Image 1Oooh, this one's a doozy. Better be comfortable over there. The Cloud Message book from Square Enix contains a heck of a lot of nice tidbits for the Square Enix fan. Looking at the cover, it's got some features on the whole lot: Fabula Nova Crystallis, the portable Kingdom Hearts games, Dissidia, and Parasite Eve 3, among others. So far, the scans we've managed to find are of the Fabula Nova Crystallis games. Oh, it's a wild ride, you bet'cha. Lots of new details for all three games!
