PSP-compatible Super Nintendo Entertainment System emulators are hard
to come by, usually taking several months in between releases. It's
good to know that homebrew coder knuckles84 recently picked up the
project and rolled out a new version.Dubbed as uo_snes9x test 0, this particular homebrew is somewhat a combination of Ruka's and Chilly Willy's take on the project. Read more after the jump! Download: uo_snes9x test 0 |

Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew developer Chilly Willy is back with another update to his ADoomPPC conversion, and this time we'll be able to enjoy some old-fashioned FPS action in a much smoother and faster clip than before, as well as the big bonus of being able to play online (provided there's a wireless access point for Infrastructure Play). Let's take a look and see what else is in store for us this time around in the world of the Green Marine Dude and his adventure on the PSP.The changelog and the download link after the jump! |

For those of us who couldn't get enough of the Green Marine Dude's bloody adventures with the original Doom, Chilly Willy is here with the latest edition of his homebrew port of a for the Sony PlayStation Portable, Doom for the PSP, with version 1.1. As we all remember from the previous version, ADoomPPC is one of the more stable Doom conversions for the Amiga that has a GUI from where you can fiddle around with the game's major settings before playing. Let's look at what's changed with this update (version 1.1 - 2007/10/29):

Doom is probably one of the few titles that has been ported many times by the ever hardworking homebrew coders we have around. Just like today, QJ.NET reader CJ sent us word regarding another iteration from Chilly Willy. The coder gave this explanation for this release:
Here's my conversion of ADoomPPC, one of the better DOOM conversions (for the Amiga). It's got a simple, decent gui that runs before you start the game which allows you to set most of the major DOOM settings. On the Slim PSP, it supports TV out. This arc includes the source, two sets of MIDI instruments and the shareware WAD file. This really is a good development for the homebrew scene because most consider Doom as one of the forerunners of the FPS genre. Chilly Willy added that while this was created on PSP Slim & lite running on CFW 3.71 M33-2, it has also been tested on PSP Fat running on CFW 3.52 M33-4. For those of you who are wondering, Chilly Willy's Doom for the PSP doesn't work with networking and cheats. Download: Doom for the PSP |
