When Square Enix and PopCap Games combined their strengths to create a new game, the result was Gyromancer. The puzzle RPG was announced in TGS 2009 back in September and redefined the tried, tested, and often cloned Bejeweled. But what we didn't know was that there were other games on that negotiating table - among them, Zuma and Peggle.

A free Blitz update for Bejeweled 2 has been announced for the iPhone and iPod Touch. What's more, if you've already previously purchased Bejeweled 2 for the iPhone, you can get the Blitz update for free from the App Store or iTunes.

On one hand, we've got PopCap Games, known for its highly addictive puzzle games that spawned clones all over. On the other, there's the prolific RPG master, Square Enix. What happens when those two team up and merge their specialties? That's where this new game comes out of - Gyromancer, a new puzzle RPG coming to Xbox Live Arcade and PC.

Sega's great puzzle game, Columns, is being offered on the App Store for a whopping FREE price starting on July 3rd, Friday. And yes, it is to join in on the celebration of the Fourth of July weekend.

This week on the European PlayStation Store - some good DLCs coming your way. Street Fighter IV gets alternate costumes, and MotorStorm: Pacific Rift gets the Lunar Tec Signature Livery Pack. Bejeweled 2 and Zen Pinball are also now available for download, among others. Apple's App Store has reached its one-billionth download, and that's certainly a cause for a party. As part of their celebration, Apple has rolled out the list of the twenty most downloaded iPhone and iPod Touch applications, for both free and paid categories. Check them out at the full article.

Now you're gonna have to fight your Wii-loving family members for the PlayStation 3. PopCap Games is releasing its heavy hitters on the PlayStation Network, starting off with the most addictive one of them all, Bejeweled 2, available today.

There seems to have been some confusion over what platforms Puzzle Quest: Galactrix will be made available on. If life were simpler, you'd think they would have wanted it across all platforms, just like the treatment they gave to Puzzle Quest: Warlords. But apparently, it's not. And life is never simple.

Another fun puzzle game getting brewed, this time it's Maketens v0.0.4. It's kinda like Bejeweled, but you have numbers instead, and they must all be horizontally aligned and add up to ten to cancel out. Use your stylus and align those blocks. Of course, if the blocks go through the roof, it's game over.
