World of Warcraft PTR patch 2.2.2 notes - Image 1Community Manager Nethaera has announced that the PTR Patch 2.2.2 notes for Blizzard's World of Warcraft have already been released. She also thoughtfully included a short summary of it, just in case you don't feel like going over the entire thing.

She first gave word that Brewfest has already begun, so players can enjoy the various activities, quests, and rewards that partaking in this event will grant them.

Aside from that, Nethaera also gave a few details about Hallow's End, which is a celebration of the Forsaken breaking away from the Scourge. Taking part in this event will allow players to wear mask during their adventures and even get a chance to face-off against the headless horseman.

Here are some of the changes that have been done to the World Environment:
  • Added a new graveyard to the Southern Barrens.
  • Added a new graveyard to the Western Plaguelands.
  • Added a new graveyard to the Alterac Mountains.
  • Added a new graveyard to the Searing Gorge.
  • Added a new graveyard to the Badlands.
  • Added two new graveyards to Tanaris.
  • Added two new graveyards to Winterspring.
  • Added two new graveyards to Stonetalon.
  • Added two new graveyards to Un'Goro.
The patch is looking really sweet, and we're pretty sure that a lot of players can't wait until it becomes fully implemented. If you want to know more about the patch, click on our Read Link to see the full notes.

Creepy crypt...wait, is that Conan? - Image 1

WoW Insider has had avid players of World of Warcraft submit special places that they happen to stumble upon in or around Azeroth for some time now. This time around, they have received a screenshot of a mysterious tomb lying in the Badlands, up on a hill southeast of Hammertoe's dig site. It's not one of those exploits and looks like a polished up version, so we're wondering: who does it belong to?

This tomb has a throne occupied by a rather heavily-armored skeleton with an odd looking sword at its side. Some players have come to think it depicts a fairly odd resemblance to Conan, although we can't be too sure. The Greek vases (you can tell by the Hoplites stained on their sides) puts the mystery even deeper.

Some players have also found this same site, yet refuse to enter without company! The eerie atmosphere and mystery behind the crypt add to the crypt's foreboding appearance. So WoW players, you might want to check this out. And if you do, take a friend with you and tell us all about it.

We'll be waiting for you...

by Zeresenay Alemseged and Copyright Authority for Research and Conservation of Cultural HeritagesThere's some bittersweet news for the scientific community today. Scientists have just managed to uncover what could very be the oldest child ever to have been on earth. Found in the badlands of Northeastern Ethiopia, the fossil remains of the child date back more than 3 million years.

According to scientists, the female child seems to be from the species Australopithecus afarensis, believed to be the ancestor of the genus Homo (which includes Homo sapiens like us). Some of the most notable features of the remains happen to tie in directly with our ape ancestry. For instance, the remains featured shoulder blades reminiscent of a young gorilla's, which may indicate that she may have been a tree-climber.

This is also supported by her hyoid bone, which is more reminiscent of great apes than of human shaped hyoids. The hyoid bone is important in relation to our voice box, and differences between the voiceboxes of people 3 million years ago to our current voice boxes could help in explaining how we managed to acquire speech.

Sadly, it would seem that the cause for the girl's death to begin with was a flood, which also managed to bury her under sand and rock. Of course, we may not really know what happened to her, but at least she has been found now.

The Badlands is a place you don't want to end up in: it's a barren wasteland devoid of water - or life, for that matter. It's home to the warring greenskin tribes governed by Darwin's law: only the strongest survive. This is Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning.

This is where the Dwarves are destined to go, to look for the "Brightstone," a gem that has the power to make them weapons more destructive than anyone has ever come across. This valuable gem is rumored to lie beneath Mount Gunbad. Chaos is inevitable in their journey: ghouls, hounds, even Ogres await them. But they still go on. Undertaking this task successfully guarantees hope for their race, and maybe - just maybe - the outcome of the war will be in their favor.

The Ironbreaker, who is from the Dwarven race, is considered the ultimate tanker: a great warrior who avenges every blow struck to his allies. Never mistake this dwarf as a puny character, as he is skilled in deflecting attacks as well as wreaking havoc on his enemies. So better not underestimate this axe (or hammer) wielding warrior fully garbed in Gromril armor. The Irobnreaker is fully prepared for battle and is definitely something to watch out for.

Vengeance is the fire that fuels the Ironbreaker to fight. Just commit the mistake of attacking his allies and you'll pay dearly with your head. This attribute makes the Ironbreaker a valuable ally in battles as he'll really protect his party members come what may.

Indestructible as he might seem, you can take on the Ironbreaker by using long-range magic before he gets to you. You could also try your luck with melee attacks - luck being the emphasized word here.
