Now that Apple's iTunes is the largest music retailer in the United States, it seems they are also intent to cover the movie-loving population. Apple has just announced that you can purchase new movie titles from iTunes on the same day as their DVD release. Find out which films over at the full article. |

Well, say hello to his little Wii, indeed. Al Pacino is definitely
about to rock the Wii console. For mafia fans (or people of the mafia
themselves), a gaming console - much less a DVD collection - is
incomplete without "Scarface". So guess what NGamer's published on the
cover of their 7th issue? They got some insider details on how Scarface: The World is Yours will be played.Firstly, shooting will be a key part in most missions. You'll be guiding Tony Montana's reticule on screen by controlling the Wii remote as you M16 your way through Miami. Heck, you'll even be given the chance to re-create that classic pose of Tony: standing in his office doorway with legs planted firmly on the ground as he cuts loose with his "little friend". So that's just the gun-'em-down part. What about the saw? What's "Scarface" without a chainsaw, anyways? A quote from the magazine expounds: Chainsaw waving is directed with the remote, lopping heads clean off with a high swipe, or using more choppy motions to re-enact everyone’s favourite Monty Python and the Holy Grail Black Knight arm-putation moment. To add a cherry to the viscera flavoured cake, the remote speaker will even growl like a saw so as not to bring you out of the moment. Lovely. Hellsyeah. First, The Godfather on the Wii, now this? GTA on the Wii console still might not push through, but hey! Scarface: The World is Yours is looking like one title worth watching out for. More updates? You betcha! |

Football aficionados can now take it out on the gridiron like Al Pacino did in "Any Given Sunday". It's not going to be all beef and brawn out there. A major part of any sport is strategy and planning. Enlight Interactive is going to have you playing the coach in their statistical-simulation sports game Football Mogul 2007. Reacting as a football player is one thing, but how confident are you at setting up plays and reading the statistics of other teams? The game boasts customization of your offense and defense routines and full control of calling your plays. There's going to be thousands of combinations to choose from, and with the addition of year-by-year updated stats and rosters, you'd start to realize that you'd need to wear your thinking cap instead of that sports helmet. The game comes out this month for retail at US$ 19.99, but maybe you're not too keen on your "Al Pacino" skills just yet. If so, the demo is now available and you can simply download the 17MB file below. Download: [Football Mogul 2007 demo] |

The world was Tony's for October, as the NPD Group/Retail Tracking Service announces that Vivendi Game's Scarface: The World Is Yours hit a the golden record sum of one million copies in retail stores all over North America. The World is Yours PC title begins where the 1983 movie ends, providing gamers with a "What if" scenario that Tony somehow survived the attack in his mansion, and puts the player behind controls of Al Pacino's much loved (or hated) fallen Cuban Cartel boss as he struggles to rebuild his cocaine empire in the game's free-roam environment. "We are very appreciative of the outstanding retail and gaming community support in North America, Europe and Australia,˛ said Pascal Brochier, Vivendi's Global Retail President. "This support pushed the game to #1 in North America while exceeding our expectations in Europe and beyond." |

...to your Xbox 360 and PSP today. In the Xbox 360, the ruling "party" never stops. Ever wanted to rule the streets of New York, but don't have enough manpower, guns, and guts to do so? Well, with The Godfather you can do that and more. In this game you'll be joining the family and carry out various tasks to earn respect and eventually rise through the ranks of the Corleon Family. The ultimate objective though is more than just being the Don of the Family, but rather to be 'Don of New York'. In order to do that you'll have to accomplish more missions, do some venue take overs, contract hits on the big heads of the other Families, and earn the respect of everyone involved. Mobs and the PSP do mix! The Godfather Mob Wars for the PSP also comes to videstores today. In this game, players are expected to hone their mob skills and rise to be the Don of the Family. Expect to fight in turf wars to take over enemy territory. Take NYC apart piece by piece and then place it back together, The Godfather style. Essentially, the most impressive statement in this game is the voice acting. Great Actors such as James Caan, Robert Duvall, Abe Vigoda, and the late great Marlon Brando lends their voices to the game. It was said that this was one of the final jobs Marlon Brando took before he died. However, noticeably absent was Al Pacino. Yet the game was able to stand on its own merits. Two Godfather games out on the same date; Don Corleon would've been proud. Well, are you ready to take over New York? Buy: [The Godfather (Xbox 360)] Buy: [The Godfather Mob Wars (PSP)] |

Looks like yet another movie/TV adaption has been canned on the Xbox 360 after yesterday's Sopranos. Now it's poor Al Pacino who has received a kick out of the promising next-gen future. Vivendi Games today confirmed that Scarface: The World Is Yours will not be released on the Xbox 360. "Cancelled" is maybe not the right word for this anyway, as a Xbox 360 was never clearly confirmed, but strongly rumored. But, there's also good news since Scarface is now headed for the Playstation Portable. Presumably more than a stripped-down home console port, the PSP version will get a different name, Scarface: Power. Money. Respect. and will combine turn-based strategy with real-time combat. Players will be able to capture turfs (Hi there, San Andreas) and eliminate rival gangs and crime bosses in the single-player mode. A multiplayer mode is in the works too, allowing four players to take over the streets of Miami simultaneously. We'll keep you updated on new info on Power. Money. Respect. as we get it. The World Is Yours, the original game, is now set for release on PS2, Xbox and PC in October. |
