How much do you think will Modern Warfare 2 (PC, PS3 and Xbox 360) sell
in its first week of launch? Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter is
of the opinion that it will move a humongous US$ 500 million, most
likely more. |

The 27th annual Golden Joysticks Awards were announced in London earlier today, giving props to the games that shaped the industry in the past year. Sitting on top of them is Fallout 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) receiving top honors as the Ultimate Game of the Year. Read up and find out who else made it big in the awards. |

Wolfenstein (PC, PS3, and Xbox 360)
is not welcome in Germany. Because of the presence of the Nazi symbol,
the game has been consequently denied in the said country. In case you
weren't aware, the Swastika and other Nazi-related symbols are
forbidden from within games in the country. |

If you're still stewing in your seat thinking about attending BlizzCon 2009, you're too late. Don't worry too much, though, you're not the only one. You know those 20,000 tickets for the event? Well, they were all sold out...in just eight minutes. |

They cannot be rushed
indeed, and all we can do is wait for Blizzard's next due masterpiece.
The company has just confirmed the speculation that we won't be seeing StarCraft II within this year. You can find their official statement in the full article. |

Blizzard is well known for their release policy of "it's done when it's
done". Some people may balk at the open-endedness of this schedule, but
really, with the high quality of products they are known to make, no
one is in the position to complain or to dare challenge them to go
faster -- not even Activision. But when StarCraft II does release, you can rest assured it's gonna be thoroughly polished, enough to earn Activision Blizzard as much as US$ 40 million in its opening quarter. Just ask the analysts. |

The much-anticipated NPD software sales for June 2009 have finally been
released, but while it's easy to be overwhelmed by the numbers in the
thousands, they are, actually, underwhelming. in fact, the analysts
have been proven right in their prediction that it will see the fourth
consecutive sales decline -- and more. The newly-released sales numbers
are now described as the "largest drop in nine years." |

If the analysts turn out right, then we just might see the fourth
consecutive sales decline in the June results of NPD, and then we'll
see that price cut happen.
Michael Pachter of Wedbush Morgan and Jesse Divinich of EEDAR are
synonymous in saying that sales will most likely be down by around
20-23%. |

Chinese gamers will most probably have to go to Hong Kong or Singapore
for a while while their new operator, NetEase, fixes the problem and
actually puts World of Warcraft back online. That's right, the country, home to literally millions of WoW enthusiasts - almost half of the world's, in fact - has been hit by a massive roadblock following the turnover of operators. And there doesn't seem to be a clear answer as to when they will go back up. |

So earlier we reported about the threat issued by Activision Blizzard
Boss Bobby Kotick to Sony about the possible pullout of his company to
publish games on the PS3 and the PSP if Sony does not cut the price of
the PS3 and reduced its licensing fees.
An SCEE representative then gave a short response about the matter but refused to comment any further. Well here comes Playstation
spokesman Patrick Seybold to the rescue. |
