German developer ACONY describes the game Parabellum as a strategy first person shooter (SFPS). It combines everything gamers look for in a potentially immersive and highly addictive game - strategy, tactics, and action. The intriguing storyline might get you all worked up, but the game's big draw is its tactical and strategic depth, which will be put to test in the game's huge multiplayer campaign. With Unreal Engine 3 in its arsenal, Parabellum is sure to wow the Korean audience when ACONY goes on tour at GStar from November 9 to 12 at the Kintex Korea International Centre. If you would recall, the game received an incredible response when it debuted at the Games Convention in Leipzig. The game continues to impress audiences after subsequent video footage received one million views worldwide. Germans had their Parabellum fix, soon it will be the Koreans. While we wait for the U.S. tour (if there's one, that is), feast your eyes on these fresh screens for the PC and PS2. The game will also be released on the Xbox 360 and PS3. |

Parabellum is derived from the Latin saying si vis pacem, para bellum, meaning "if you want peace, prepare for war." But what you've got to prepare for is Acony's Parabellum. The story is frighteningly close to real life events - past and present - that it could run into a lot of potential controversy. The premise is New York City is under siege by the extremist group Black November, threatening to detonate a thermonuclear bomb if all United States military forces don't withdraw from the Middle East within 10 days. If their conditions are not met, the 20 megaton nuclear warhead will wipe out New York City off the map. As if that isn't enough, nobody knows where the warhead is. This is the first high-resolution video released for this Strategy First Person Shooter that focuses on rapid multiplayer action online that uses Unreal Engine.">Unreal Engine.">Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3. The game is set to be released this 2007. There's very graphic violence in this clip. Viewer discretion is advised. Download: [Explosive Parabellum High-Def Pre-Alpha Trailer] |

We have more screenshots as well as some new artwork from the FPS known as Parabellum. Developed by ACONY, this title will utilize the Unreal Engine 3 to create high-end graphics for a multiplayer FPS on the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The plot of this game revolves around some sort of terrorist threat located within New York; we know it sucks, but that's all the info we have at this time. As you can see from these screens, Parabellum is definitely delivering impressive visuals, but we'll have to wait until the second half of 2007 to see what this title has to offer.

German-based software production studio ACONY may be relatively new in the gaming scene, but it created quite a buzz when it licensed Epic Game's Unreal Engine 3 technology back in May, to develop games for the next-gen consoles.
The company is focused on creating high-end graphics and multiplayer compatibility, which we'll be seeing in Parabellum, a multiplayer first person shooter (FPS) for the Xbox 360 and PC. Nothing much is known about the game except that it revolves around a terrorist threat in New York City. If we are to trace back the origins of Parabellum, it's said to be a word coined by German arms maker DWM. The word has been used to describe firearms cartridge or any firearm chambering the 9 x 19 mm round, particulary the Luger pistols. And with that bit of info, we bring you the newest screenshots courtesy of Worthplaying.com. (Hey, we just thought a bit of a historical background can make you appreciate the title even more). With all these awesome screenshots, we reckon that ACONY is really serious about bringing in high-end graphics to the table. We're big fans of visual realism in games, and we must say that Parabellum is way up there on our list.
