Looking for more new games to play? Coming in just in time for the weekend are new download game options for both the Wii and DSi stores. Seven new ones are on the list, so there shouldn't be any reason for your weekend to be boring.

Konami has been around for a very long time. Long before 3D and complex gameplay, the publisher busied itself as a prominent MSX developer. Before the Solid, Metal Gear made its home on the format, right alongside classics such as Contra and Parodius. For another round of retro, Konami's adding 13 MSX games into Virtual Console.

Time to take that walk in the historic Abbey Road as MTV Games, Harmonix and Apple Corps, Ltd. announced today the launch of Abbey Road (1969) as the first of the Beatles' album to be released as downloadable content. The DLC will be landing in The Beatles: Rock Band (PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii)Music Store on October 20 for the Xbox 360 and Wii, and October 22 for the PS3.

For quite some time now, Square Enix has been releasing Final Fantasy after Final Fantasy into Virtual Console as if they were counting down to the first one. That countdown has ended now that the famed RPG publisher has released the very first Final Fantasy, giving gamers of this generation the chance to add FF-101 to their gaming creds.

Help the little tykes get their first go at gaming with The Very Hungry Caterpillar's ABC, an English training game for preschoolers coming to WiiWare. Those who're familiar with the classic children's book may have guessed, this is indeed based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Good news, Wii fans! Nintendo has made the Wii Internet Channel available for free from now on! Yep, no more of that 500 Wii Points requirement (US$ 5). Free. Free. Free.

They heard us crying loud... I can hear Billie Joe Armstrong singing "When I Come Around" while I'm typing this down. Growing up to the music of their Dookie album has that kind of effect. Anyway, as previously announced, Green Day is gonna make their July 7 schedule into Rock Band 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2), for the Wii version at the very least. "When I Come Around" may not be in the first batch, but I'm still hoping that the Dookie album will have its day.

A new DLC pack is headed for the Guitar Hero: World Tour (360, PS3, Wii), and this time, it's for all the punk rockers in all of us. Even the name of the pack is punk-sounding, with Epitaph Punk-O-Rama Track Pack as the title. Obviously, as you may also see from the name, it's all about the Epitaph artists. List after the jump.

The Wii's not about to be left out on the Final Fantasy console-craze. As of next month, Wii owners will get to download Final Fantasy III on the Virtual Console for 500 Wii Points (US$ 5).

Although the Wii homebrew scene has been enjoying the Commodore 64 emulator for some time now, Nintendo only recently remembered about the classic console. Now that they have though, they're adding three new Commodore classics to the Virtual Console.
