Talk about getting some official recognition! Fring, the first-ever homebrew mobile VoIP for the iPhone, is reaching for the wider market as it is now made easily accessible via the App Store.

Joining the list of games to get their own set of Trophies for the PlayStation 3 will be Electronic Arts' Battlefield: Bad Company (PS3, Xbox 360). Sierra Entertainment recently announced the release of the latest patch for their alternate world RTS, World in Conflict. The patch, which they call #005, brings a lot of new fixes and features, such as a graphical mode for colorblind users, and a Clan Wars feature that makes it easier to find a clan match.

Over on Epic Games' Unreal Tournament 3 forums, WarTourist has announced the release of patch 1.11 for the PC version of the game. In addition to the usual slew of bug fixes, improvements to the bot AI and user interface have also been implemented.

Members of The Cult of the Dead Cow, an underground computer security group, have been spearheading efforts to get the town of Dharamsala back on the internet without the need for expensive tech and the fear of rampaging monkeys. To do this, Dead Cow members such as Yahel Ben-David, who is both well-versed in tech and in the Israeli Military, worked with the people of Dharamsala to create the Dharamsala Wireless Mesh.
