Homebrew developer Big Bang Theory has dropped us a line announcing the release of version 1.4 of the Wii Brew SD Installer. This update includes updates for the homebrew browser and new DVDX files to allow DVD playback. Hit the full article for details.

Team Twiizers, who have always been anti-piracy, have found a workaround to the legal issues surrounding ISO loading, and have released an Open-Source Apploader that will let you load homebrew from DVD. More details in the full article.

Howdy, Wiibrewers! Time to round up the latest homebrew news and programs in this week's Wiibrew Weekend Warrior! While the Wii scene may be a bit quiet this week, the Wiibrew scene is far from it. This week we got a new engine that serves as a foundation for 3D homebrew games, a new app that will let you change your system's regional settings, and more. Unfortunately, it's not all good news for the Wiibrew community this week as Team Twiizers and waninkoko have parted ways. On to the news, let's get cracking!

Despite the recent behind-the-scenes conflict going on with Team Twiizers, Wii homebrew developer waninkoko still managed to release some new updates for his custom firmware programs, the Wii DVD Dumper and Custom IOS Downgrader. Wii homebrew developer waninkoko has been pretty active lately. This new homebrew program, Wii Region Changer, does exactly what it says. Now you can play Virtual Console games released in other regions. Details in the full article.

A new version is out for GeeXboX, the Media Center prototype for the Wii (now in its alpha stages). Some great new updates in this build, including support for widescreen mode and improved Wiimote connection and reconnection routine. Details in the full article.

You can't say they didn't try. Bushing's attempts to contact Nintendo has been fruitless, apparently. Which is good for us, and bad for Nintendo. Now, Team Twiizers will soon release a library that will enable the Wii to have DVD access for homebrew. Details in the full article.

Hola, Wiibrewers! The Wiibrew scene was pretty lively this week (livelier than E3, I daresay), with the release of the Wii's first custom firmware, and the discovery of an exploit that could allow ISOs to run on unmodified Wiis. There's even talk of a new version of the Homebrew Channel in development! Time to get cracking with this week's Wiibrew Weekend Warrior!

Although there's no specific release date yet, Team Twiizers has revealed that Beta 9 of the Homebrew Channel is in development! Not only that, but it seems they also have plans for developing a form of custom firmware for the Wii. Details in the full article.

Team Twiizers has been hard at work with the Twilight Hack ever since it was found out that the recent Wii Menu Update v3.3 blocked it from running. But now, just as they promised, an updated version of the Twilight Hack has finally been released, and it's now working in full compatibility with Wii Menu v3.3!
