It's all good when game producers adapt a clever scheme to show off their video games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl and its frequently updated official website, for instance, to draw attention from eager fans.

And this is also exactly what the guys behind Sega Rally Revo are doing. Keith Burden, the Lead Car Artist for Sega Rally Revo, set up a blog in IGN to give people a peek on what cars to expect in the much awaited racing video game from Sega for the PlayStation 3, the PC, and the Xbox 360.

In his first blog post, Burden introduces the first class cars to be featured on the game: Subaru Impreza WRX STi, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, Ford Focus RS, Peugeot 206 WRC, Skoda Fabia, and Citroen Xsara Rallycross.

Burden then gives his thoughts on why the cars were selected for inclusion in the game, and mentions in the blog post that there will be many unlockable cars, car variants, liveries as well as specialist cars. The rest of the cars, he says, will be revealed all in good time. The blog seems to be updated weekly, so it'll be best to check his blog for updates from time to time.

While advertisements and press releases do their job of disseminating information, nothing's better than engaging attention more effectively than offering a first-hand look at the game's progress while it's still being developed.

Subaru's logo - Image 1It's been three years since operations in the Subaru Indiana of Automotive (SIA) manufacturing plant started. During this time, 100,000 Partial Zero Emission Vehicles (PZEV) have been sold. And not a single piece of trash came from the company.

Subaru is celebrating its three-year anniversary of zero landfill status at its manufacturing plant, reports AutoblogGreen. This great achievement is a continuation of Subaru's outstanding performance in protecting Mother Earth, having earned the the U.S. EPA's Gold Achievement Award last year for its accomplishments.

"At Subaru, we are committed to not only maintain an effective environmental management system, but also to integrate sound environmental practices throughout our business," said Subaru of America Chairman, President, and CEO Tomohiko Ikeda.

True enough, it's been three years since the Subaru plant became the first to achieve zero landfill status, yet they're still one of the best when it comes to waste reduction and recycling.

As testament, PZEV (Partial Zero Emission Vehicles) certified Legacy, Outback and Forester models are proven to be more environment friendly with 90% cleaner emissions than your normal ride. Using technology that completely burns fuel and makes emission as clean as possible, exhaust of these vehicles can even be considered cleaner than smoggy urban areas according to AutoblogGreen.

The same plant where cars are made also caters to wildlife. We'd love to see Nintendo's pro-environment policies include taking care of deers, coyotes, beavers, blue herons, geese, rabbits, squirrels, meadowlarks, ducks and other animals like Subaru does.

Ain't nothin' like stepping on the gas and blowing by fools on the asphalt especially if your friends happen to be in those opponent cars. Colin McRae: DiRT allows you to do just that and run a race's sweet moments over and over again to either repeatedly gloat at the competition or to just plain watch how your car goes crazy in a crash.

We can tell you what makes this radial-buster's replay system so special but that would just beat the entire purpose of posting this video. Watch here and let the devs themselves fill you in on what's new:

As you probably know by now, Colin McRae: DiRT has been available since May 29 from most major retailers on a pre-order basis. As a special bonus for getting it while it's hot, the fellas at Codemasters will include an access code in the package to grant you access to 10 hidden cars in the game including a feisty Subaru Impreza. Nice way to lure the motor sport fans in.

PGR 4 this Autumn - Image 1

Microsoft Games Studios and Bizarre Creations are really doing a good job in hiding Project Gotham Racing 4 under the fog of secrecy. Unlike other video games, there have been no other source of information save from the two aforementioned companies. It's a good thing the updates for this racing video game are getting more frequent recently.

Just today, Microsoft Games Studios and Bizarre Creations released the partial roster of real-life cars that will be featured in Project Gotham Racing 4. Before this, the only car known to be in that list is Flux - the car designed by a fan and won the recent Peugeot Concept Car Making Contest. Anyway, some of the iconic cars to careen in the game are as follows:
  • '62 Ferrari 250 GTO
  • '67 Toyota 2000GT
  • '78 Lamborghini Countach LP400
  • '98 Subaru Impreza 22B STi
  • '04 BMW M5
  • '07 Ruf RGT 997
  • '07 Lotus GT3RR
Microsoft and Bizarre also divulged that the recent gameplay video for PGR4 was actually their rendition of the beautiful cityscape of Nurburgring. Also, there will be a total of 10 different other locations for the title, two of which include streets of North in Quebec and St. Petersburg.

Project Gotham Racing 4 should be available some time this Autumn.

Colin McRae: Dirt - Image 1

And so the dirt-flinging action roars to life as Codemasters launches the Colin McRae: DiRT playable demos. For the Xbox 360 version, you can now get it on Xbox Live, while the PC version, with a multiplayer event, is available from the DiRT website, which you may visit via our Read link below.

For both demo versions, the game opens with a Crossover race in a competition against Colin McRae himself. Get ready to careen through the twists and turns of Avelsbachring, Germany with your Subaru Impreza WRX STI spec Cs. After that, it's off to the Bark River Off Road Raceway in Michigan.

From here, the road forks for the Xbox 360 and PC demo editions. Xbox 360 gamers will be wheeled off to a Hill Climb event with a Mitsubishi Evo IX. Hopefully you'll make it unscathed to the top of the 1000 feet Windy Point in Arizona. The PC gamers, meanwhile, will be off to an all-new multiplayer high as they will be pitted against up to 100 players vying for the top spot on the Sardinian rally stage at Mounte di li Conchi.

The actual game of Colin McRae: DIRT will be skidding to a halt atop retail store shelves on June 15, for both the Xbox 360 and PC version.

Mega Man Star Force - 20th Anniversary for Mega Man - Image 1 We've seen so many incarnations of Mega Man - all of them recognizable at first glance. Capcom just released more info on the newest one: Mega Man Star Force for the DS. Plus another occasion, Mega Man turns 20 this year.

The title will be released in three versions (much like Pokemon) called Pegasus, Leo, and Dragon. It sports action RPG gameplay and takes players to the 23rd century where technological advances have led to the creation of "Trancers". Trancers are mobile computers that are able to convert various navigation systems into electromagnetic waves (EM waves) or Wave Road. The storyline centers on a new lead character named Subaru Hoshikawa.

Subaru's father, an astronaut, mysteriously disappeared at a satellite station. Even so, the hero's interest in the stars and the universe did not fade with the tragedy. One day, Subaru discovered an alien life form named Warlock. He also learned that other dangerous creatures are on their merry way to wreck destruction on Earth. Subaru combines with Warlock and poof! He becomes Mega Man and in that form he can enter the Wave Road where the invaders are attacking.

As you may have noticed, it's a new storyline and Mega Man Star Force will introduce new characters to the rich series. The three versions each have unique advantages:
  • Pegasus – based on the water element, Ice Pegasus can instantly freeze an opponent with its special Ice Slash.
  • Leo – turning up the heat, Fire Leo uses a special Flame Burner attack that can incinerate enemies in its path.
  • Dragon – the ferocious Green Dragon draws upon the power of wood with a Wood Shot that fires a cluster of razor sharp leaves, slashing enemies to bits.
  • Star Force Big Bang – under special conditions, each form can unleash a devastating super move that draws upon their respective element.
Other features include:
  • Cyber battles feature an immersive third person view as players engage enemies in a 3x5 battle grid
  • Each game version offers a unique powered-up transformation of Mega Man based on the respective elemental power and can unleash a special “Star Force Big Bang” attack
  • Battle Cards based on elemental attributes (fire, water, wood, electricity), each a part of a power chain where one is stronger or weaker than another
  • Best Combo – combine Battle Cards of the same type to unleash consecutive attacks
  • Dynamic Brother Band system – add up to six friends to help each other in battles, share Battle Cards, receive stat boosts and other special benefits
  • Each character has their own customizable Personal Page where Battle Cards and information can be viewed and traded with friends to compare progress
Mega Man Star Force is set to rush to store shelves in August 2007 and will retail at US$ 34.99 (SRP). Check out the screens and the videos. Enjoy!
