In what seems to be an amusing parody to the proverbial Apple god, this image was posted by user donatreides over at Flickr depicting the grave of Steve Jobs in the form of an iPod.

The picture evoked a stream of humorous comments when it was first posted and still continues to illicit much amusement. Though he has been reported with notable health problems over the past few years, this puts into perspective a lighter side of what eventually lies in store for everyone someday.

Even Steve Jobs had a thing or two to say about his life and eventual death someday in his commencement address last June:

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

What more can we say but, "Very well said Steve, now where's that new iPod scheduled for the holiday season?"

Steve Jobs has been known to have a thing against buttons. You can see this in almost all the products that Apple has released under his direction. This minimalist approach to technology has been successful, and has been one of his principles ever since the company released their first computer.

Some of our older readers may remember that the original Macintosh's keyboard had fewer buttons than a normal PC keyboard. This was done because Jobs said that this would force independent programmers to make programs that would use the mouse, which wasn't common to systems during that time. His gamble worked.

Another example of this would be the iPod, which people now praise for its innovative and simple interface. What most don't realize though is that when the product was first released, a lot of people were calling Apple tech support just to figure out how to turn the product on. It took time for people to get used to it, but when they did, they preferred it to the more common buttons prevalent in the electronics industry.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak had the following to say about Jobs' attitude: "When Steve hits on something important to him, for either a personal reason or a design reason, he sticks with it for pretty much his whole life... until someone can absolutely prove him wrong."

What Jobs insisted on some 27 years ago has become a cornerstone in the development of Apple's products. He has become a legend in his own time not because of the complexity of the technology his company developed, but because of how simple it is to use.

Mark your calendars! July 28 and 29 would be the days that Space Invaders and friends would take over Las Vegas. The 2007 Classic Gaming Expo will be held at the Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas promising to offer more classic gaming fun for fans who love the old stuff. Organizers love the vibe of Las Vegas, hence they're bringing back the love and the spirit of old games by giving it one grand party at the Riviera's expo area.

According to Joe Santulli, co-organizer of the Classic Gaming Expo, a lot of organizers and celebrity guests felt it was best to bring he convention back to Las Vegas. The event had started as the "World of Atari" expo in 1998. Who knew that one Atari event could bring the love back for the old consoles and arcade games?

The organizers have said that the Classic Gaming Expo is not only for those who love classic games but also for those who love modern games as well. The expo will have guests from the video game industry who would love to share their experience of the old games and how these inspired them to make new ones. Former guests of CGE include Steve Wozniac, David Crane, and Nolan Bushnell.

So remember boys, July 28 and 29, 2007! Bring lots of quarters and let's beat those Space Invaders.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak may not be as visible as Steve Jobs, but when the "other Steve" talks, he sure gets our attention.

The Times Online got Wozniak talking about money, taxes, and why he carries US$ 20,000 cash in his pocket (no typo there, the zeroes are in the right places). While that's one brow-raising statement, we can't blame him for carrying so much moolah because he needs to get his gadget fix. Yes, folks, the 56-year old multi-millionaire is still gadget-crazy, with a certain fixation to Segway scooters, environment-friendly hybrid cars, and plasma televisions. With such high-end toy addiction, it becomes understandable why Woz carries around that much money. That's on top of the credit cards that he use "quite a lot now". It's not hard to tell that Woz is a huge spender, eh?

The Times tried to dig up some financial info from Woz, but unfortunately, he's not quite certain about the status of his investments or how much he earns. He leaves it up to his accountant and broker. But he did say, "I’m an engineer, not a money person, but I do remember using some of the proceeds from selling my Apple stock to buy a house in Scots Valley, California."

It's quite interesting to know that a person of his stature really doesn't keep track of his investments. Perhaps that makes his proposed change in US tax system seem a little bit strange and would make economists cringe: "I would like to see all assets taxed instead, although I think it would save everyone a lot of time and energy if the government just deflated the economy by 1 per cent a year by printing more money. That will never happen, though."

But it's easy to lose track of investments and all "unimportant" tax and government issues when you're just happy with your life, right? That seems to be the case for Woz.

Actor/Environmentalist Ed Bagley, Jr.'s worst nightmare, the Hummer, is turning over a new leaf and yes, its a green leaf. Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, is planning to drive a hydrogen fuel cell-powered Hummer H1 from the McMurdo Station in Ross Island, Antarctica all the way to the South Pole.

Hydrogen fuel cells works like a battery but does not run down or need recharging. It produces electricity and heat as long as fuel (hydrogen) is supplied. Hydrogen is supplied to the anode, while the cathode is fed with oxygen. When activated by a catalyst, hydrogen atoms separate into protons and electrons. The electrons go through an external circuit, creating a flow of electricity. The protons go through the electrolyte to the cathode, where they combine with oxygen and the electrons to produce water and heat. So unlike its gas-guzzling cousins, Wozniak's Hydro Hummer is as friendly to the environment as Bagley's solar-powered wheels.

The journey will also run on star-power. Wozniak's co-pilot happens to be former astronaut and second human to walk on the moon, Buzz Aldrin. The trip will be for a research project which is sked to roll out in December 2007. The expedition will be filmed in 3D for Titanic director James Cameron.
