I Am Alive - Image 1It's been quite a while since we heard of I Am Alive (PS3, Xbox 360, PC), and really, Ubisoft can't blame us if we keep asking if it's really still alive. After all, it was first presented back in E3 of 2008, and up until now, details have been tremendously scarce. In fact, they are so scarce that it would have been a drought as of today had it not been for the game's designer who posted a release window for 2011. So he says.

Slumdog Millionaire - Image 1It's late, but I hope you guys would still find it useful - it's this week's PSN video content update. While it's not as high-profile as some of the previous updates, this batch has the high-octane Gone in Sixty Seconds in it, which I still think is better than the sell-out Fast and Furious franchise. And for those who missed it, the Oscars-owning Slumdog Millionaire is up, giving you the chance to see what all the hype was all about. Complete list is inside folks!

Army of Two 2 - Image 1Electronic Arts' promise last week to announce an EA Montreal game today is made good with this most recent press release. They've formally confirmed Army of Two: The 40th Day. Yeap, Karl B., you were right on the money! What's cool is that, while the game is confirmed to return to its home consoles (PS3, 360), it's also getting a PSP spin-off! That's a nice change from hearing all these other console games getting DS spin-offs. *coughPrinceOfPersiacough*

Intel presents second generation Eduwise - 'Classmate PC' laptop - Image 1Now who doesn't remember the first Eduwise? Intel's "Classmate PC" may have been visually akin to that of a kid's educational computer you could get at Toys 'R Us, but inside that 7-incher was a capable beast. The semiconductor giant wasn't about finished with it's "World Ahead" program, so it rolled out the next Classmate PC in line. Check out the spankin' new specs that could give ASUS Eee PC a run for its money - that is, when you hit the full story.

Solar ferry model proposed by Solar Sailor - Image 1Hybrid cars aren't the only thing that's going green. By 2009, Australia's Solar Sailor is planning to set up solar-powered ferry boats to sail across San Francisco Bay, carrying tourists and passengers alike.

If all goes well, the boat will be ferrying passengers in two years time. The boat still runs on diesel, but it mostly gets around on wind or solar power.

Chinese MMO - Image 1For a lot of students in the US and Europe, the first year in college signals a time of changes. If you're a Chinese online gamer entering college, however, your world just might flip over.

Chinese education authorities have taken notice of rampant delinquency among students hooked to online gaming. The incidents of students flunking subjects has reached very significant numbers, prompting academic institutions to act drastically.

Prominent institutions such as Zhejiang University, Nanjing University, and Shanghai Jiaotong University have recently taken action in the form of a total ban on freshmen bringing computers with them. This is supposed to help them restrain themselves from all-night gaming sessions that cause them to neglect their academics.

Other institutions have taken similar action in the past, but the problem does not seem to die down amidst pressure against it. It has been noted that freshmen simply turn to internet cafe services for their gaming needs. Others resume the habit when they reach their sophomore years.

Internet addiction experts say that the academe should re-think its policies and try to address the root cause of the problems than trying to stop or delay the inevitable. Tao Hongkai, one such expert, says that educators should try to motivate their pupils to get over their addictions rather than try to curtail their fixes on their vices.
