Sonic 3D - Image 1 This Virtual Console update for Europe and Australia is a bit early, but there's nothing like the present to get a sneak peek at the bounty of retro gaming Nintendo's sending our way. So, without further ado, let's get to the game list and see what titles we'll be splurging our Wii Points on this holiday season.

First up is Art of Fighting from the Neo-Geo System, going for 900 Wii Points. Soon-to-be Fatal Fury mainstays, Ryo Sakazaki and Robert Garcia, make their debut on the videogaming world as two martial artists on a mission to rescue the kidnapped Yuri Sakazaki, Ryo's sister, from the evil Mr. Big. Kick, punch and beat-the-living-crap out of your opponents in one-on-one matches that started the versus mania off to a rocketing start.

Next in the list are two titles from the Sega Mega Drive, namely Alien Soldier and Sonic 3D. Alien Soldier puts you in the shoes - or rather, taloned claws - of Epsilon Eagle, in an epic side-scrolling shoot-em-up where the stages are short and the bosses are many. Sonic 3D has the blue hedgehog being seen in another dimension, with improved graphics, a killer soundtrack and a quest to collect all the flickies you can come across. Both titles can be downloaded for 800 Wii Points each.

Last but not least is Samurai Ghost originally from the TurboGrafx. You control Tairo no Kagekiyo, a swordsman brought back to life to vanquish an encroaching demon horde once and for all. And being an undead samurai, you'll be able to use powers such as levitation and energy manipulation to make your work a little bit easier. All you need is 600 Wii Points to get on this adventure.

Definitely a great back of titles for Wii owners in Europe. Updates as we get them!

TwinBee - Image 1As promised in the lineup of Virtual Console titles coming out in Japan this month, we're now able to clock the specific dates of two of those titles: one from the PC Engine, the other from the Sega Mega Drive. Both of them are scheduled to hit the VC one September 18.

The first title is one which we're sure QJ writer Mabie's fond of. Detana! TwinBee from Konami is one shooter that holds a special place in many a gamers' heart. For lack of a better term to describe the game, fans have called it a "cute 'em up" instead of the usual "shoot 'em up" tag. The game is going to available for 600 Wii Points on the VC.

Super Thunder Blade is also scheduled to hit Japan's VC on the 18th. The helicopter shooter from Sega may be purchased for 600 Wii Points as well. While the game has been announced to be released in North America's VC also, a specific date hasn't been revealed.

Sonic The Hedgehog 3 - Image 1

It's been a while since European Wii owners got this big a haul in the Virtual Console department - and frankly, it's a well-deserved haul at that. Not one, not three, but five Sega Mega Drive classics are heading to Wii fans in Europe, headlined by none other than Sega's own mascot in one of his most legendary adventures yet, Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Let's get to it and see what sort of retro action we're in for!

Headlining this smorgasbord of retro gaming is none other than Sonic himself, in his third adventure that introduces silent protagonist and owner of two very powerful fists, Knuckles the Echidna. This epic adventure that pits you against Robotnik and his metal monstrosities lets you harness a variety of wicked power-ups to dash, jump and bounce your way to victory.

Next up is Ghouls n' Ghosts, the sequel to Ghouls n' Goblins. Arthur must wear the legendary suit of armor once more - and his pair of heart-printed boxers underneath it - to save a fair maiden's soul from the demonic forces that hold it captive.

Crack Down is a two-player shoot fest where you must infiltrate bases, plant bombs, and get out safely before things go boom. ESWAT: City Under Siege gets you armed in the fight against crime in a futuristic city, while Shining in the Darkness is a 3D dungeon romp with classic RPG elements.

Certainly high-quality titles indeed. Updates as we get them!
