powder - Image 1Homebrew coder Jeff Lait has recently released a new version of Powder, a roguelike homebrew game originally developed for the GBA that involves different game element like tactical play, hack and slash, dungeon crawlers and the likes. The latest update is mostly a bug fix release.

Shiren the Wanderer - Image 1Atlus has scored quite a coup for the more hardcore Wii fans, securing the North American publishing rights for Shiren the Wanderer, a critically-acclaimed roguelike RPG from Chunsoft. The Atlus PR only mentioned it as such, but this game is actually a localized version of Fushigi no Dungeon - Furai no Shiren 3: Karakuri Yashiki no Nemuri Hime. Yeah, well, good call. Plain Shiren the Wanderer is shorter. More details after the jump.

PSP homebrew - Image 1Good news for the retro-inclined: an enterprising dev by the name of Junx1337 has released a PSP Slim port of the old-school roguelike game, Nethack, which was originally ported to the PSP by Virtuamunstaz and ivegotthepawa.

Powder Jeff Lait - Image 1Jeff Lait's homebrew game Powder (previous release here) for the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS is now even more playable, with the addition of fire arrows. Now that we mention it: are there any dungeon-crawling game that makes use of arrows and other similar projectiles, without fire arrows? In any case, the homebrew developer finally corrects the oversight. Check out the changelog in the full article.
