RipDev has released an update for their Cydia alternative, Icy. The freeware package manager is now at version 1.3. Check the full version for a list of changes.

After last week, it's a great run for Apple again: There's that new beta iPhone OS 3.0 released (at least for the devs), and on the homebrew side of things, it's been a dive into emulators, complete with a QJ primer on emu guru ZodTTD.

The RipDev team has released a new version of  InstallerApp.  InstallerApp is a native Mac OS X application that will soon be available for Windows users that allows you to easily download applications for your iPhone from Installer and Cydia directly to your computer.

All righty then! We got some huge developments on the iPhone front this week - notwithstanding some interesting rumors too. For one, Skype's making waves on the iPhone already, and another thing, the clockwork is tick-tocking nearer to the final iPhone 3.0 release - with some jailbreaker apps in tow!

The beta 2 version of iPhone OS 3.0 may have only been released to the developers, but that doesn't mean our busy hackers aren't privy to the release as well. To top things off, they've even released a jailbreak, what, what!

Icy is RipDev's take on Cydia, meaning it also uses APT repositories to install and remove packages. According to RipDev, Icy is fast, lightweight (installation takes up a little over 1 MB compared to Cydia's 32 MB), and simple enough to use. Best of all, it's completely free.
