Yes, it is possible that in the future, as gaming becomes more mainstream and its audience expands, the appeal of video games will shift from combat thrills to storytelling - a sign that the industry is maturing. This is the opinion of BioWare's Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka in an interview with GamesIndustry.

Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk isn't making things any easier, though, as they replied a curt, "We have announced Mass Effect 2 for PC and Xbox 360. We have no comment beyond that."

Serious work is about to proceed for Mass Effect 2, if the formation of a new studio group within EA Montreal is any indication. BioWare is reportedly hiring 30 new staffers to support the team that's in charge of the development of the highly anticipated sequel to the action RPG title.

BioWare confirmed that Mass Effect will still be going multi-platform despite reports of BioWare CEO Ray Muzyka stating the title's exclusivity for the Xbox 360 in a recent interview found in Australian 360 magazine.
