Everything's mini now, it goes to follow that they run on minibatteries as well. But there's no such thing as minibatteries... right? Wrong. MIT researchers have just created this breakthrough technology, and they used viruses for it. |

Nintendo's pride and glory, Shigeru Miyamoto, was nominated more than a week ago by the people behind TIME Magazine to be one of the Most Influential People of the Year in The TIME 100. After an introductory write up by Quake's own Johnathan Wendel, a.k.a. Fatal1ty, the man behind the phenomenal Mario and Donkey Kong is now pegged at the 92nd spot of the Top 100 list. Now we do know that the spot isn't as impressive as PC World's placing of Blizzard's Mike Morhaime in the recent Top 50 Most Influential People on the Web, but seeing as he went up against the likes of Paris Hilton and titans from other industries other than the video game, we say 92 is definitely a big slice of the pie. In fact, bagging the 100th spot at the Top 100 list of TIME is already way too good to pass up. In other news (or just FYI), top spot was filled by philanthropist and Hollywood hottie Angelina Jolie, honored for her major influence on the needy. But top on the readers' lists is Korean pop sensation Rain, with (surprise!) American Idol's Sanjaya Malakar on third place. According to all you gaming readers out there, Shigeru Miyamoto is number nine in your book. Photo courtesy of Makoto Ishida for TIME Magazine. |

Acclaim Games recently showed their moves on the dance floor, err, MMO block, by launching their latest online game DANCE! Online. Bound to be your little tween sister's new best friend, DANCE! Online is a free-to-play MMO dancing game and it will feature top talent and recordings from the Warner Music Group. According to Howard Marks, "this is by far the closest collaboration any major music label has ever had with an online game". With artists like Paris Hilton and Ashley Tisdale among many others on the Warner recording stable, we bet a lot of people would have fun with this game. Anyhow, the U.S. open beta for DANCE! Online will be starting this week. Atlantic Records' recording artist Cupid will make a personal virtual appearance in the game. Other artist-related announcements will follow where they will create their own avatar and play the game live online and chat with fans. The game will feature the artists' latest music and personalized virtual items including artist-branded clothing and accessories. Players can compete to win autographed merchandise and other artist-branded products. Players could use either their keyboards or PC-compatible dance pads for their character to rule the dance floor. |

After dreaming of a white Christmas, red is the new black. Michal Birecki happily tells us that the paint and clear coats on his custom-painted red 60GB PS3 are all dry, and eBay is now open for bids.
By the way, if the photos don't tell you already, that ain't just any run-of-the-mill red he's used. He's specifically chosen the Maserati Red color swatch for tres, tres erotique... what? You guys haven't run your hands down the smooth curves of a sleek sports car, and feel the temptation to take her out for a spin? You guys need to get out more. Well, if any of you readers happens to own a red Maserati GranTurismo, guess you have your in-car entertainment system up and ready on eBay. And after this... Michal says that he'll set up an ordering system for the common man to order his own custom-painted PS3 directly from PS3 Center.net. So if you've ever wanted your PS3 in Jaguar racing green... or pastels. And a big thanks for telling us about this, Michal! Paris Hilton thinks that the other pictures of the Maserati Red PS3 in the painting process are hot, too. Paris Hilton could afford to buy a Maserati, damn it. |

Most Americans probably haven't heard of Furgus Fenix, but he's the ursine cousin of Epic Games' Marcus Fenix, and he's coming to make you laugh. Thanks to Barts_706, we heard about Furgus Fenix and his band of brothers as they traverse some comic wastelands in search of honey and a very good sniper. This comic, called Bears of War, features Gears of War scenarios as envisioned through the life of bears... with machine guns. As some opf you might note, you'll also get a lot of surprise cameos from famous bears like Yogi and Booboo, and more notably, Winnie the Pooh. Unfortunately, Winnie has the terrible habit of dying for one reason or another (eviscerated by another bear for his honey, impaled in the eye by a Wiimote, headshot from a sniper's bullet, etc.), but there's a certain macabre humor that comes out when you know he's bound to be back in another installment. If you're looking for something new to fill your time, or just want to see Paris Hilton's dogs get crushed under Furgus' feet, you now have a place to visit. Enjoy the fan art! |

Whoever said gamers don't know how to have a life fun is wrong. Except for that French dude who reached level 70 in just 28 hours, WoW players in general are a happy, fun-loving bunch. Was it only the other day when a few players came up with a damage per second calculator? We don't know if you will be using that one but new players certainly would.
Anyway, here's more proof that WoW isn't all about raiding and leveling up. If you visit the World's End Tavern in the Lower City of Shattrath, you'll be seeing a Blizzard-placed NPC modeled in the likeness of Paris Hilton. you may also catch a glimpse of her pet Tinkerbell. To play it safe, the character's name was changed to Haris Pilton. Well, we haven't got the chance to meet Pilton yet in Azeroth but if we do, we will talk to her and ask her about her experiences. After some minutes of shallow talk, we might even use that DPS calculator on her. We'll see.. |

If you ever auditioned for anything and you were rejected because you "lacked the star quality/x-factor" to make it into showbiz, then it may actually mean that you just simply have to be more vain.Recently, Los Angeles psychologists Mark Young and Drew Pinsky have compiled proof that, yes, celebrities do think that they're better than the rest of us, and that it may just be that which has propelled them into stardom in the first place. After having conducted a survey among 200 celebrities via Pinsky's radio show, they've come up with the results showing that what makes celebs different would be "their extreme levels of self love and their compulsive need for public attention". According to the survey, dubbed as "Narcissism Personality Inventory", celebrity women tend to be "far more narcissistic than men and up to a third are more manipulative and vain about their appearance than the typical woman in the street", that they do believe that they deserve the compliments that they get, and that they do insist on being respected at all times. However, he does point out that several of Hollywood's "fast set" such as Paris Hilton and Britney Spears may be digging themselves into trouble. To quote: They are going further and further. One of these Hollywood party girls is going to be dead in five years' time. We are seeing a new type of celebrity who is famous just for being famous, without a foundation of skills, and this puts the pressure on them to perform ever more outrageously to feed their need for attention. On the other hand, they have also pointed out that there is also a marked difference between various types of celebrities, since "the more real-life skills they have, such as musicians, the less narcissistic they are". So. How about those guitar lessons? |

Okay, so she's out to prove she's not just some dumb blonde, with lots of money, and with some scandalous video circulating in the internet. Paris Hilton is set to conquer the world--yes, even the gaming world. Not just content with having a show of her own, or an album that surprisingly sold, or her own music videos, Paris has apparently also dabbled in craftsy gaming. With pink swarovskis, at that. Yup, that product right there is a pink DS Lite, butchered--er--designed by Paris herself. And yes, she fully intends to share her talent. In fact, there's one actually up for auction on eBay right now. And starting at US$ 670, with a buyout of US$ 1465, approximately. Hmmm...sparkly, sparkly. Then again, I don't think anyone would expect anything less from the blonde heiress, eh? Oh, and it comes with spare crystals and a glue kit. So don't worry about them swarovskis going astray. |

Sony sure knows how to cater to its market. Especially when you're talking about the Hollywood's elite list. Throwing a totally exclusive PS3 debut party for the who's who of the entertainment industry, Sony pulled out all stops for the event held last November 8 at a Beverly Hills landmark. So this news is three days old. Big deal. The big deal is that it shows just how much anticipation the PS3 is actually generating, that even them high and mighty stars just had to take a breather from their hectic schedules for a tryout. Pretty much, these celebrities got a good headstart from all of us still waiting for the PS3, because they already got to play it. With a party added in! And boy, don't that make you wish you went to that Nickelodeon audition some ten years ago? Dang. You could have been a star! And then, you would have been invited to this event. But no. Anyway, back to reality. David Arquette and Nick Cannon weren't able to resist Resistance: Fall of Man, Genji: Days of the Blade and NBA 07. Other stars like James Franco and Jamie-Lynn Sigler checked out the movie quality on the PS3, while RnB singer Christina Milian, along with Nicky Hilton, surfed the web and the other media devices of the console. Meanwhile, Paris Hilton, now reunited with best friend Nicole Richie, enjoyed a special performance of Diddy. Oh, admit it. You like hearing about what celebrities are up to. And to know that they're just as anxious over the PS3's arrival like the rest of us mere mortals are, well, it kinda makes us want to believe that the stars are far more closer than they are. |
