Here's some hope that the Wii could actually support a hardcore shooter playerbase. According to High Voltage Software, WiiSpeak is a go for The Conduit, as well as MotionPlus. Tantric's Gameboy emulator (GB/GBC/GBA) Visual Boy Advance GX 1.0.1 is here, featuring a couple new improvements. You'd be glad to know that GBA games now run at full speed, among other things.

Developer dborth recently released a new homebrew emulator for the Wii, based on the PC-released Visual Boy Advance. The port of Game Boy Advance emulator includes many useful features and provides a seamless player for ROMs of the Nintendo handheld. The wonder team of Wii homebrew developers who brought us the Wii64 is now shooting for the stars in their next project: WiiSX. They've successfully emulated the PSOne platform on the Nintendo Wii. In fact, we've got a demo video in the full article showing a work-in-progress version of the emulator (complete with demo-cameo of Chrono Cross!)

If your favorite NES game still hasn't gone live on the Wii Shop Channel, you can always try the alternative and play it on a homebrew emulator. One of these emulators, FCE Ultra GX (FCEUGX) 2.0.0, was recently released by developer Tantric and includes a complete rewrite of its code to bring it up to speed.
