QQ Manto v0.5b - crash bug fixed - Image 1 QQ Manto v0.5b - crash bug fixed - Image 2 QQ Manto v0.5b - crash bug fixed - Image 3

When homebrew developer nataku92 first released Line Rider-inspired QQ Manto, it was warmly accepted by the community. Aside from borrowing gameplay elements from the Flash game, this creation is very reminiscent of Loco Roco sans the tilt function for the shoulder buttons.

However, QQ Manto did encounter several problems as some of the users reported a bug within the program. These users reportedly encountered a blue screen and a message saying their units have crashed, this happened after playing QQ Manto for a couple of minutes. Good news for everyone since this newly-released build has already solved that problem.

Aside from the bug fix, nothing else was added to the game. Well, the game is already great as it is but the developer is open for suggestions so that he can add them in the future updates. We're pretty certain that a lot of you would still ask for that tilt function.

Please read the Readme.txt file included in QQ Manto v0.5b before installing the game on your PSPs, especially if this is the first time you are going to try this.

Line Rider-inspired QQ Manto v0.5 - Image 1 Line Rider-inspired QQ Manto v0.5 - Image 2

The Flash game Line Rider that became a full-blown Internet phenomenon has inspired a lot of iterations in the past and it has even made its presence felt at this year's Neo Spring Coding Contest. Homebrew developer nataku92 created a PlayStation Portable game heavily inspired by Line Rider known as QQ Manto v0.5.

The coder noted that although QQ Manto is a game, there's no way for a player to win or lose. The objective is to make interesting and fun patterns of lines for the blob to ride through. We really had enjoying making patterns and while watching the blob slide down a slope, we can't help but be reminded of Loco Roco.

Anyway, nataku92 included a Readme.txt file in the download package below. It contains key maps for pattern creation as well as the game itself so don't skip that one before installing this on your PlayStation Portable units.

Now all we need are buttons for tilting functions and this 'brew could be a phenom.

CSPSP v1.21, by nataku92 - Image 1

Homebrew coder nataku92 passed by the QJ.Net Forums earlier to announce the release of CSPSP version 1.21. This application is a homebrew port of Valve's Counter-Strike (CS) FPS game for the PC, with the PSP version being converted into a top-down format. Some of you may have seen this game's previous version as an entry in the recently concluded Neoflash Spring Coding 07 event. Here are the noted changes:
  • Added scrolling to map select screen
  • Added ability to choose team
  • Implemented money
  • Increased shotgun damage a little
  • Fixed buying ammo bug
The game carries two control styles: Absolute and relative mode. Absolute mode moves the game sprite as seen from the player's view (ex. pressing up on the analog moves them up onscreen). Relative mode moves the  player's character depending on which direction their sprite is facing (ex. pressing up on the analog moves them forward, not up).

CSPSP v1.21's full control details are available in the bundle's README, along with nataku92's future plans for the game. Also make sure to drop by the game's release thread over at the QJ.Net Forums for further details and discussions. Enjoy your download.

CSPSP v1.2 entered at NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition 2007 - Image 1CSPSP v1.2 entered at NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition 2007 - Image 2

For those who don't know yet, homebrew developer Nataku92">Nataku92 has joined the NeoFlash Summer Coding Competition 2007 for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) division. His entry, as expected, is the much-loved handheld port of the FPS title Counterstrike, called CSPSP.

Basically, it's Counterstrike for your PSP units, but don't let the apparent simplicity fool you, as it has a lot of unique features incorporated into it. Probably the most exciting among these would be the infinitely large tile map. Well, it's not entirely infinite, but it can be as huge as you want, as long as the size of the map file and textures don't exceed your PSP's memory.

There's also the collision detection system which provides users accurate collision detection between them and the walls. The system is not tile-based, so you can model any polygon that you like. For CSPSP v1.2, Nataku92 made it so that the characters are represented by circles and the walls, and by line segments.

Here's the changelog for CSPSP v1.2, and after browsing through the Readme file for controls and other features, go right ahead and give this game a try!

Changelog for CSPSP v1.2:
  • Finished all gun configs
  • Implemented buy menu
  • More compatibility with custom maps
  • Implemented Options
  • Implemented new Update feature
  • Included custom maps

Halo 2D screenshot - Image 1

A few days after fatcat04912 came up with his CSPSP Extreme v1.2 mod, he's letting all of us know about another mod fresh off the assembly line: Halo 2D. Not to be confused with an earlier brew of the same name, this CSPSP mod marries influences of Microsoft's flagship title into Nataku92's Counter-Strike "port." And here they are:
  • All new Slue of Weapons
  • All New Characters
  • New EBOOT
  • New Title menu
  • New Halo Background song
  • Some New Gun Sounds
Check out the screenshot to see what Halo hardware makes it into the mod. Also expect an update, which may include new sounds, maps, and a more guns. Lastly, fatcat04912 is calling out to any skilled map makers out there to help come up with new maps to match his mod. If you guys like what you download, do remember to e-mail the man for his work.
