SCi Entertainment - Image 1Keeping up with the SCi Entertainment takeover bid? Well, if you put money on Time Warner, then this update might make you re-think your wager: it seems that NBC is putting forward big money to be the king of the hill, in terms of being considered as the top buyer. Just how big, you ask? Try a hundred million greenbacks. Enough money to choke a mammal of colossal proportions. Check out the details in the full article.

Conan O'Brien - Image 1If you fancy some off-topic humor for some easy viewing over the weekend, here's something to tune into: Late Night with Conan O'Brien and their recent segment with Rock Band.

Turns out that the WGA strike had left them with a lot of free time on their hands... Which makes us think that, yeah, video games really are benefiting from the writers' strike.

New House episodes won't be on iTunes - Image 1An Apple spokesperson has given word that the new episodes of House will not be available on iTunes. This was expected considering the main company producing the show, NBC Universal, has decided not to renew its contract with Apple which expires this December.

Apple has given word that negotiations for a contract renewal fell through because the production company wanted more than double the wholesale price for each episode. A move which would have pushed the price of each show to US$ 4.99. NBC Universal seems to have already found other means of distributing their content online with Hulu, an upcoming joint online video venture with News Corp. that will be challenging YouTube for market dominance once it goes live.

The company pulling out its content has many speculating regarding its impact on the popularity of Apple's media service. Considering that NBC Universal content is credited for 40 percent of all video downloads on iTunes, there might be a very big drop in user downloads once the split has been completed.

Heroes - Image 1Fans of the NBC hit television show Heroes would be pleased to know that all current issues of the comic book spin-off of the series are available for the DS in the Moon Books Project.

The Moon Books Project is a website that provides classic literature and films for the Nintendo DS handheld. While Heroes couldn't be put in the same category with the likes of Kafka, The Moon Books Project still went ahead and encoded the Heroes comics to commemorate the start of Heroes' second season.

Of course, you will need the homebrew Comic Book DS in order to read the files using the DS, so make sure that your DS is homebrew-ready first before even thinking of using it as a comic book reader. You can download the application in the link below.

Download: Comic Book DS v2.2

Download all the current Heroes comic issues in the Read link!
