Rebelmind Games, makers of the memorable Space Hack, re-entered the computer role-playing game scene back in 2006 with Frater, a Diablo-esque, single player-only romp against hordes of bats, zombies, werewolves, and their monstrous folk. Faced by a sinister threat, the player stepped into the shoes of three heroes - each with their own specialty - and participated in the righteous fight against an evil mastermind. Frater was released in Europe and the UK and soon embodied the simplistic hack-and-slash types reminiscent of Rogue, a popular dungeon crawler back in the good old days. Published by Meridian4, The Chosen: Well of Souls is the North American version of Frater. It was probably renamed to emphasize the plot that beckons would-be heroes. Unfortunately The Chosen, like Frater, doesn't come with the epic storyline you'd be used to with Dungeons & Dragons-style storytelling. It doesn't even offer the open-endedness of Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls: Arena (and yes, its successors). |

Forbes Magazine has always listed the world's richest people. Some, however, have not only the fortune, but also the fame. It is interesting to note that the list of the world's richest celebrities is topped by the very dynamic Apple CEO, Steve Jobs. Here's the list:
10. JK Rowling - book author worth US$ 1 billion. 9. Oprah Winfrey - TV host worth US$ 1.5 billion. 8. Mark Cuban - HD net owner worth US$ 2.3 billion. 7. Donald Trump - real estate mogul worth US$ 2.9 billion. 6. Steven Spielberg - film maker worth US$ 3 billion. 5. George Lucas - Star Wars mastermind worth US$ 3.6 billion. 4. Richard Branson - entreprenuer worth US$ 3.8 billion. 3. David Geffen - movie mogul worth US$ 4.7 billion. 2. Michael Bloomberg - financial information system founder worth US$ 5.5 billion. 1. Steve Jobs, Apple CEO worth US$ 5.7 billion. - This quirky, individualistic and dynamic former hippie has made waves in the computer industry with his company Apple. He helped popularize the concept of the personal computer in the late '70s. This pop-culture icon is also credited for the iPod, which gave a hipper reputation to computers and MP3 players. Recently, Steve's been gaining attention with his anti-DRM statements and his yet-to-be released iPhone. The richest celebrities, in pictures, follow below. See more pictures after the jump! |

Psychonauts. (One of the) Winner of the BAFTA video game awards, but much like other highly-acclaimed titles like Clover Studio's Viewtiful Joe and Godhand titles,it slowly faded from the gaming scene. We can't really do anything about Clover getting re-absored into Capcom, but we can tell this to the guys who'd like to get another crack at Psychonauts: Majesco's just announced that this title is now available for digital download through Macrovision’s Trymedia Network. Psychonauts puts players behind the controls of psychic Raz (Razputing), who must go from area to area in the game's environments in an attempt to save his fellow cadets from the clutches of an evil mastermind. The game was developed by Double Fine Studios, which in turn was founded by game dev Tim Schafer, famous for his earlier titles like The Secret of Monkey Island, and Full Throttle. Access the site here to download a sample of the Psychonauts game, and check out their other titles while you're at it. |

No French jokes here, folks. Only a lot of gaming goodness. The French homebrew group known as Team 280 released the latest version of Mastermind, now called Mastermind v1.0 . From the 0.5 version that used TIFF, to new graphics and support for 1.00, 1.5 and 2.xx firmwares in the pre-1.0 versions (can we call it 0.75?), you can now call Team 280's Mastermind a dual-language puzzler for the PSP. As with any game of Mastermind, your job is to figure out the hidden combination of colors by a process of trial and error. In Mastermind 1.0, you have ten tries to figure out the combination and the program will respond as to whether your assumptions are right or wrong. Guess right and you get points for a running score total. Best of all, they have English and French interfaces for this version, so you don't have to wonder what the interface is talking about. Here's Team 280 directions on playing the game on your PSP: Combination Inputs:
Sound : Stop or play music Start : Help Menu A white light shows you that one color is well-placed, while a black light shows that one color is not well-placed. There are currently two versions of the game out: a 1.00 & 2.xx version using Kriek eLoader, and a 1.5 version. Feel free to pick up the one that suits your needs, and make sure to give Team 280 props on a fun game and Cloos for some sweet Mastermind music. Just make sure you know what you're doing so you don't brick your PSP, and feel free to check the discussion thread linked below if you want to ask any questions. Enjoy!
