Now that the new line of PS3s have lost the support for installing Linux, Sony must've felt the need to provide an upgrade for its built-in browser. Hot and fresh out of the rumor mill: Sony is in talks with Mozilla about adding Firefox support for the PS3.

Homebrew coder poedel has dropped by our forums to release MultiCountdown, a useful countdown timer for the PSP. Currently, the homebrew only supports the German language but plans to translate the homebrew in English is already in order if the community demands.

Homebrew coder alatnet has dropped by our forums to release a new update for his brand new homebrew project, Java PSP Makefile Creator. The initial release of the homebrew app was released yesterday but got quickly updated by the dev to version 1.1 to add more features and changes.

Homebrew coder Lino has released a new update for iDeaS, a Nintendo DS emulator for Windows and Linux. The latest update of the excellent emulator is a bug fix release to further improve the stability of the homebrew.

An update on the official APB website reveals that  the game will now be made available for free on the PC. As to the other platforms (Xbox 360) and clients, something's also been said about those. Check it out after the jump.

Another update has been released for Steam's Team Fortress 2, which includes the arrival of a Linux dedicated Server for that guaranteed improved connection logic to help those servers that aren't automatically reconnecting to Steam. Full list of changes at the full article.

It looks like Sony is extending their support for schools and universities with courses geared towards computer engineering and programming. At the Develop Conference 2009, SCEE R&D's Sarah Lemarie revealed that a PS3 dev kit designed for academic use is in the works.

The iPhone DevTeam has updated Ultrasn0w and reds0w to version 0.8. The Ultrasnow update now includes iPhone 3GS support while the redsnow update can now jailbreak the iPhone 3GS, hactivated devices and includes a Linux version of the jailbreak.
