PSP-3000 mod - Image 1Ah, now here's a breath of fresh air. LED mods are a dime a dozen, but for the first time ever (at least, to our blogosphere knowledge) we now have a PSP-3000 mod. Lookin' mighty sweet, yes? It's got some blue LEDs in certain parts of the Ceramic White PSP-3000 unit, and would look at that? The UMD tray looks like Iron Man's chest plate in the movie! I dub thee, roro3030's PSP-3000 LED mod, the Iron Man mod!

Sony PlayStation Portable handheld - Image 1You have to hand it to Travis and the new LED mod that he was able to pull off on the PlayStation Portable. He was able to add a lot of bling on his handheld and literally put it up in lights - 30 LEDs worth of light to be exact. The mod places various LEDs around the handheld and even hooked up some of them to be responsive to the PSP's WLAN feature. Check out the video of the mod in action in our full article.

We've seen quite a handful of PSP mods out there centering on LEDs. And though a sound-reactive LED mod has been done before on the PSP Phat, here's one for the PSP Slim. L0rdNic0 managed to recreate the LED mod on his PSP Slim a few days ago, and now, he's finally posted a video of it. Here, we see the shoulder buttons of the PSP Slim blink to the beat.

This mod didn't require any add on switches whatsoever, and he's able to turn the LEDs on and off without suffering any functionality loss. The PSP Slim is already pimped out as it is. Glad to know some people find familiar ways from the PSP Phat era to pimp out the Slim even more. Lights go blinky-blinky; check it out:

L0rdNic0 intends to release a full tutorial for his PSP Slim LED mod sometime this coming week (he said he'll try to get it up by Monday). For now, you can visit the discussion thread he's created on our QJ.NET forums. Just so you know, this is his first mod, so why don't you guys give him all a warm welcome!

For those of us who want a little more oomph to our PlayStation Portables, specifically about the bright LED lights on the nifty little gadget, here's a neat little mod that lets those small lights slowly fade out instead of blinking on or off. Courtesy of none other than *FuFa, here's the PSP LED Fader mod, as shown in action in the video embed below.

Certainly looks awesome, doesn't it? Not only does it give the LEDs a pulsing effect, it certainly adds style points if you're playing in the relative darkness. You can check out the tutorial - complete with pictures and an extra video - on how to apply the PSP LED Fader Mod to your own handheld by clicking on the Read link we've supplied. Enjoy the video, and remember to take care when tinkering with your PSP!

Good mod man that he is, F00 f00's dropped us a line once again, telling us of his latest kick-ass mod. The AcidMods team is pretty well known for their mod-work, one of the latest was their right-side analog mod called the the "Razor Nub." This time around, hailing from their sound-reactive LED mod, we now have a PSP Rumble mod that activates from sounds. Take a peek at F00 f00's proof of concept vid:

The story behind this has F00 f00 working on a client's PSP (client here being robin1989), and while trying to do some LED modding, got distracted. He started playing around with a little spinning motor from a mobile phone and decided try his hand once again at a previously semi-unsuccessful attempt at producing force feedback on the PSP.

A few minutes of tinkering, and boom, he's done it. He even says that it was quite a simple mod: where voltage being sent to the speakers would also be routed to the motor to power it. (We're not sure if he was able to finish the actual LED mod though, but hey!, distraction leads to Einstein moments too)

Now a PSP Rumble feature has often been discussed in online forums everywhere. Some say that for Sony to have included such a feature in their handheld would just be a series of lawsuits waiting to happen - gamers would start complaining how their grip slipped on the PSP when it did force feedback. Other people simply dismiss the idea, saying that such a feature isn't necessary.

Whatever the case - whatever your reasons might be - you still can't deny how cool this mod is. Props for F00 f00; another great mod to add to the growing library in the PSP community.

The I-Case Chameleon series - Image 1Still think the I-Case Crystal LED color lacks variety for your Wii console? Team Xtender has just announced the latest entry to their I-Case line today, dubbed the I-Case Chameleon. Much like its namesake, this Wii LED Mod cycles through eight different LED colors at a pre-set pattern: red, purple, green, yellow, blue, apple green, and orange.

We don't have any price details for this decidedly psychedelic mod job at the moment, although we're tempted to imagine how this would look when coupled up with other interesting Wii mod projects out there. How's a mix-match with an equally customized Wii stand sound, or a mish-mash with some Master Sword pimpin'? Stick around in case Team Xtender unveils more projects in the near future.

Team Xtender Wii LED mod - Image 1In case silver-plated or jet-black Wiis weren't your cup of tea, Team Xtender is offering up something for the Wii owners that ensures your console bares it all...in style.

Coming up in the near future is their new Wii I-Case Crystal LED mod, which provides for an up-close look of your Wii's inner workings. And for the family-oriented players, this mod ensures that your Wii console doubles as a handy night-light for the gaming toddlers among your brood.

The team is letting everybody know that the Wii I-Case Crystal LED mod will be available in about a month's time (they said 30 days) - make sure to buy some gloves by then, as clear crystal is oh-so-sinfully easy to smudge. Keep posted in case Team Xtender releases even more cool Wii mods like this.

The IC respnsible to the Sound Reactive Led Mod - Image 1AcidMods R&D team member F00 f00 dropped us a note a while ago about the latest PlayStation Portable (PSP) mod that has been the cause of discussion among their forum members.

It's called the Sound Reactive Led Mod and as the name implies, the shoulder buttons blink and react depending on what's playing on your handheld unit. F00 f00 also told us that a lot of people were a bit skeptic if this was even possible. To prove that this can be done, their team posted a video on YouTube. The team also mentioned that the nitty-gritty on how this was done will be provided later, but for the most part, this mod involves removing the mobo.

The picture you can see on the right is the IC responsible for the Sound Reactive Mod. Theoretically, this should allow the mod to be wired to the PSP's internal speakers but for now, the team had to make do with external ones.

For anyone who's pretty much gone out and bought almost every console out in the market, you might want to consider getting one of these. This won't only make your consoles happy (if they even have emotions), but it will also keep the rest of your household from tripping over your gaming machines when trying to cross the living room.

Not to be confused with the ultimate gaming DESK, this shelf was created by kriseattle22. We find this piece of furniture to be rather impressive for several reasons. One reason would be how it keeps everything so neat and tidy, with the pretty consoles all lined up nicely, and the controllers hung up at the side of the cabinet in an orderly fashion, just waiting to be picked up. So yeah, with this thing, you won't have to worry too much about your couch eating your controllers anymore.

Next, we love the ventilation on this cabinet. Not only do the consoles get to prettily sit on an elevated platform to keep the bottoms aired, but the maker has also fitted some LED fans on either side of each console to keep it nice and cool.

Now what else could we have asked for with this design? Hmm... probably a system to keep all of the wires out of sight as well.
