New PSP Slim Accessories from Hori and Brando - Image 1 New PSP Slim Accessories from Hori and Brando - Image 2 New PSP Slim Accessories from Hori and Brando - Image 3

Gamers looking to protect their PSP Slim and Lite will be happy to know that third party accessory manufacturers Hori and Brando already have their own line of products for the handheld. Hori has come out with two pouches to keep your unit safe while Brando released a silicon cover that should keep your PSP free from dirt, fingerprints, and scratches.

The Portable Style Pouch from Hori comes with a carabiner which allows the unit to be strapped on your backpack or a belt loop. While it does look stylish and attractive, you should know that this product doesn't completely cover the PSP Slim which may be a problem if you get caught in the rain. This item is currently being sold for ¥1,980 (about US$ 17)

Hori's other offering called the Inner Pouch Portable is for travelers who prefers to keep the handheld in a bag. It doesn't come with any clips but offers more protection for the PSP Slim than the previous pouch with its special internal lining. This product is going for ¥780 (about US$ 7).

Brando offers a silicon case for the PSP Slim which protects the unit from fingerprints, dirt, and minor scratches. It has cut-outs for the different buttons and switches so you can use the handheld even with the case on. The slip-on cover is available in various colors such as black, blue, pink, or even translucent. This item is being sold in Vis-a-Vis for ¥1,290 (About US$ 11).

Each of the products look pretty durable and will probably last for quite some time under normal use. If you plan on ordering any of these, you might have to act fast because the online shops have already run out of some of these products.

Good things come in pairs as they say, and it's good news for Xbox 360 owners as two highly anticipated games go gold: Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation and Beautiful Katamari. The two games of completely different genres - you can hardly put shooting down planes and rolling up planets in the same category - are both from Namco Bandai.

The photorealistic Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation will be hitting stores on October 23, along with the limited edition which will be packaged along with Hori's ACE-EDGE Flightstick. The limited edition game will be available for US$ 149.99. Beautiful Katamari will be out (according to the website) by October 16.

Hori Fighting Stick - Image 1

If you own a Nintendo Wii, you love fighting games and you like the old-school arcade fighting controls, then this accessory is for you. We reported about the Wii Fighting Stick from Asian manufacturer Hori several weeks back and told you that it's due out for Japan. Now Hong Kong is getting the product and so can you if you visit Play-Asia.

The Hori Fighting stick should be just dandy if you can't master Wiimote controls for fighting games like Soul Calibur Legends, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It goes out for the price of US$ 52.90.

Wii fighting stick - Image 1About a month ago, manufacturer Hori gave out a news bit announcing that they were planning to release an arcade-style controller for the Wii console very soon. We're letting the readers know that the company's made good on their promise.

The Wii Fighting Stick has just appeared on the Hori official site with a set date of August 30, 2007, and is priced at ¥ 5280 (US$ 45.50). That's a little less than the 50 bucks that will cost players when the Fighting Stick gets its North American release this November 6.

Other controller features we spied when we checked out Hori's site include auto-fire features for each of the buttons. The Wii fighting stick is activated by plugging it into the Wiimote, much like you would with the classic controller set. Just the thing for every Wii owner's growing compendium of Virtual Console titles.
