Guinness Book of Records - Image 1Not every gamer loves books, but we reckon just about anyone who can read and hold a control pad would like to scan through this one, at the very least. The Guinness Book of Records will officially unveil the Videogame Edition of the famous annual book to cater to every game trivia nut out there.

The book will launch at the London Book Fair on April 16 to 18 and is officially titled "The Guinness World Records - Videogame Edition 2008". The book will contain all the game information conceivable from record game scores, characters, game sales, record times and how much game industry insiders make in a year.

"The news that Guinness World Records has decided to produce a book devoted to games is great for both gamers and the industry. It's another boost for the profile of gaming, and I'm very much looking forward to getting started," says Games Industry editor Ellie Gibson.

Guinness has been available since 1955, offering exact and reliable information on almost every field of study known to man. In fact, the fields have grown so diverse that the Videogame Edition of Guinness is only the first of many field-specific books to come.

Q*Bert - Image 1

Sony Online Entertainment has just announced arcade classic Q*Bert will be hopping up the pyramid of gaming consoles and onto the next-gen PS3 via PlayStation Network. No, it won't be a direct port. It's going to be a brand new version that'll have a bunch of exclusive features.

These "PS3-exclusive features" still haven't been sneezed out of the Sony labs, but we're sure the gameplay would stay the same. Would the SIXAXIS be used though? New enemies perhaps (Coily must get lonely after all these years)? Will the retro sounds stay unchanged? Here's what we know though:
  • it will be released on (scheduled for, at least) February 22 for US$ 4.99
  • can support 720p resolution
  • will have worldwide leaderboards
Ah. Leaderboards? If Doris Self (holds Guinness World Record for scoring 1,112,300 points) were to be alive today, gaming gods bless her soul, she'd be right on top of that list. Hail, Queen of Q*Bert!

Say now, do you guys smell a bunch of screenshots? Yeah, we thought so. Check them out behind the "Full Article" link below.

Ademilton - Image 1A bundle of joy. That's how we usually describe babies, but Francisca Ramos dos Santos didn't expect that her bundle of joy is gonna be this heavy and huge. Thirty eight-year-old Francisca recently gave birth to a 17 pound baby boy named Ademilton - the heaviest boy ever born in Brazil according to the Brazilian Gynaecological Association.

Ademilton was born by C-section last January 17 and he is Francisca and Alfedo's fifth child. Doctors are diagnosing that the reason for his unusual size was probably due to his mom's diabetes. Mrs. Santos' other kids are already in their teens and pre-teens, with the oldest already 15 years old, and all of them are of normal weight when they were delivered. She says she knew that the baby is gonna be big, but not this big.

Baby Ademilton is being given glucose solution intravenously so as he maintains a safe level of blood sugar because of his mother's illness. Aside from that, he is also receiving oxygen to take care of his breathing problems, but Rita Leal director of the Albert Sabin Maternity Hospital says that "both mother and baby are doing just fine."

According to The Guinness Book of World Records, the heaviest bundle of joy even born weighed 23.12 pounds and died 11 hours after birth. Hopefully, young Ademilton won't suffer the same fate.
