It seems that God of War 2 director Cory Barlog has finally let us in on some of the details of the new project he'll be working on with film director George Miller. Suffice to say, they will be resurfacing a classic 1980's movie title and adapting it to the video game platform. Activision is definitely taking the hits nowadays. First it was Harmonix lodging a royalty suit with the company - now, Gibson Guitars, maker of fine musical axes for those of us ready to rock, has just filed a patent suit with them. It seems that the Guitar Hero franchise is infringing on one of their patents, made back during 1999. Check out all the details in the full article.

Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii owners who are currently rocking hard with Activision's Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will be glad to know that their virtual rock god experience is about to get a bit more realistic. Activision and Gibson have announced a collaboration that will herald the 2008 arrival of wireless Les Paul six-strings designed specifically for the popular video game.

It may not be able to transform into a self-sentient robot that can use sound waves to pop people's heads, but Gibson's latest brainchild, the Les Paul Robot Guitar, will tune itself AND help you replace strings - so that's just as awesome. And we won't have to wait until the next millennium to experience such next-gen convenience, either, as the guitar itself is set to take over stores come December 7 of this year.
